what I really hated about s5 was that it felt too modern and if they pulled out an iPhone I wouldn't have been surprised, and that every time they went to the Upside Down it felt like a walk in the mall and there were no stakes and it felt like they were trying to replicate a marvel movie..

It felt too clean to be a show abt a rampaging mind controlling monster that could and would kill you once he controlled your mind. It happened to fast and it was wayyy too simple. And the way they handled the quarantine and government occupation felt incredibly lukewarm

knowing that both sweetbunny22 and spit swear were taken down due to harrasment is embarrassing and makes me extremely sad for the authors. although sweetbunny22 is now up again i believe, the fact that it was taken down in the first place due to how fandom treated it and the author is just extremely upsetting.

i have read spit swear and i loved it. i wanted to reread it because of me loving it but can i? no. why? because people cannot stand that someone is going to write something that they won't like.

oh you don't like that ship? ok don't read it. oh you don't like the content? ok don't read it.

an author of FANFICTION should not be scared to post their fic or take it down due to harrasment. that is a horrible way to treat someone who put their writing out there for FREE. chances are that author was writing for fun more for other people. chances are the writer was already scared to put it out there. and now seeing how authors are treated, we are going to start losing fanfiction and authors and things that makes fandom fandom.

do we not understand how harmful this is to the community? not only within stranger things and IT, but community in general. fandom is supposed to be a safe space, not a place where if you don't fit into this tiny little box that one person has created, then you're going to be harrased and threatened and doxxed.
