Amazing how many of us celebrate him, his sacrifice and contribution to our union and democracy and don't know what he was fighting for. Church today was really good!!! It was probably the most poignant, unbiased and doctrinally sound teaching on politics I've EVER heard!!! We are the church before we're Republicans, Democrats and Independents. Jesus was not a Republican nor a Democrat and not an Independent. He and his teachings transcend politics, culture, socially accepted and normalized values and everything else in between. Yet, we see glimpses of his teachings being lived out through his people (yet we at times are deeply divided, divisive, dogmatic and at times evil). If we're going to live out God's word let us at least be consistent across the board!!! It's a shame that we'll be so lopsided in our thinking and practice then expect for God to bless OUR agenda. 🤔 And then wonder why people riot, protest, back the blue, support lives inside the womb as opposed to black lives outside the womb, stand up for gay rights or vehemently oppose them.... as if the other side of the coin doesn't exist. When are we going to be church? If the salt of the Earth loses it's saltiness, what's the point? It's useless!!! ... I’m even more convinced than ever before... that if God doesn’t breathe on what you do or give you favor in an area of your life it will fail to launch. People are seeking truth, purpose, a reason to live, validation & affirmation all while bringing their whole selves to the table. And will we, believers, be able to give them an answer? We do a lot of in life due to ambition whether godly or selfishly... It’s great to have goals but we have keep those goals in check and under the Submission and Authority of God and Scripture. ...
