Aritst Bio

    Jericoe Cass is a twenty-two year old singer/songwriter from the Halifax, Nova Scotia. After having played piano and trumpet in band class all of his life, he decided in 2011 to become a songwriter like his influences Usher Raymond, Movie and telecom Idol Will Smith. Thanks to his talent for writing radio-friendly R&b/Hip-hop songs that connect with audiences with the very first listen, his songs have been receiving a steady rate of positive feedback.

A songwriter of instinct, Jericoe has a flair for writing catchy songs that leave the listener moved by hiding emotion within them. Although his roots are firmly placed in mainstream R&b/Hip-Hop, he draws inspiration from many different lyrical and musical influences. "My style is my style..I can write a rock ballad today, and the next a retro country melody will come out of me, and I'll be wondering..where did that come from?". It is that versality that has landed his song ‘Your World’, an acoustic yet r&b sound, on top of his statistic charts, and that had made publishers interested in him.

Music is not a new passion for Jericoe however: after studying the Piano, acoustic guitar and voice training for eight years, Jericoe started writing song at the tender age of 21: "I used keyboards and everything that made a sound around the house before I even picked up the guitar!", he says jokingly. But it wasn't until visiting my distant relative “Homegrowntheproducer “lead rapper of MCJ and CoolG back in 1988, which he decided to make music his life dream. In such a short period of time, life took him through many ups and many downs, where he studied and faced many different musical challenges. Music, truth be told, was never far from his mind. "I always knew it was a matter of time until I started to write my own music, my first stop as always been finding new beats or local pubs, where I discovered new types of music. All those different genres have influenced the songwriter I am today.

Halifax, the capital of the Nova Scotia - a little city in the east coast, Jericoe is sharing his time between enjoying family and spending plenty of time in the studio where he writes material he hopes to pitch to publishing companies in the near future. Based on the reception of his latest compositions, the future looks promising!
