The hysteria around the coronavirus is frustrating me and this is why:

According to my research of what's out, it isn't vastly different from the flu even according to our medical professionals that released the comparison info. In its very limited life time it's comparatively a bit stronger and more fatal to older folks than the usual. Which makes sense cuz it has significantly less cases than seasonal flu. That small number makes percentages jump quick. 5/15 is a bigger percent than 5/100.

That being stated, the most recent death/case rate is less than 1%. Less. Than. 1%. It's only really concerning because it's brand spanking new so there's no preventative vaccine. Cuz its new.

It has the same preventative measures as the flu, which are the things we should be doing anyways: wash your hands, cover your coughs and sneezes, and if you have the luxury to stay home when sick stay home (if not you can wear a mask).

Why are Disneyland and all these colleges and big events closing when they've been open and running for illnesses that from the start were highly dangerous?

Something doesn't sit right with me about all this y'all, especially since it's election season. Regardless, be concerned. You have a right to be concerned and proactive about your health. But please don't panic over a .03% fatality rate. Be mindful. Be aware. And don't always trust those in power. They do not always have our best interests at heart.
