´Leo listened to his friend talk about life with a tiny one and even tho he knew it was tough, it sounded tough as hell, he couldnt help but envy him. He couldnt help to envy how easy the whole process had been for him and Odette and that they had a little one at home already. It was such a beautiful thing and he prayed to god that soon him and Isaiah would be in their shoes, unable to sleep at night cause they had to take care of a litle noisey poopmachine. " i know its tough and going through it all on no sleep is hard but just promise me to not to forget to enjoy it. " he reminded his friend. " oh yeah? i bet she is, she seemes like the perfect woman to fill the shoes of a mother. Odette is so patient and kind." Leo smiled " yeah ? your whole world? i bet they are, i´m so happy for you man. Its hard but so worth it i bet" He listened carefully as Jessie spoke " so your finally growing up man?" he teased" naah, but the beautiful thing is that you dont have to have it all figured out, its what makes everything fun, to learn, and figure things out. especially together with the person you love" he told him and smiled at the thought.
" isaiah and i?" Leo thought for a bit biting his lip, unsure if he should say but Jessie was one of his best mates and coworker " well...i mean.... we are trying to start a family" he admitted and bit his lip.
Jesse listened as Leo spoke, noticing the way his friend’s eyes lingered somewhere between admiration and longing. He recognised that look immediately, he had worn it himself once, before everything changed. When Leo reminded him not to forget to enjoy it, even through the exhaustion, Jesse let out a quiet laugh and shook his head slightly. "Yeah, you’re right," he admitted. "It’s just hard to remember that at three in the morning sometimes. I wouldn't change it for the world." Still, Leo’s words stuck with him. Jesse knew he needed that reminder. The sleepless nights, the crying, the constant responsibility, it could get overwhelming for a new parent. But they were also temporary. He didn’t want to look back one day and realise he had been too tired to notice how beautiful it all was. When Leo spoke about Odette, his girlfriend, about how patient and kind she was, Jesse’s expression softened instantly. "She really is," he said warmly. "She's a superstar." Hearing Leo say he was happy for him meant more than Jesse expected. "You’ve got a point. I definitely don’t have it all figured out. I’m just winging it half the time."
When Leo hesitated at the mention of him and Isaiah, Jesse noticed immediately. He saw the lip bite, the uncertainty. Instead of pushing, Jesse stayed quiet, giving him space. When Leo finally admitted they were trying to start a family, Jesse’s eyebrows lifted in surprise before his face broke into a genuine smile. "Wait, seriously?" he said, his voice softening. "That’s huge, man." He stepped closer, clapping a hand on Leo’s shoulder. "I’m really happy for you both," he added sincerely. Jesse let out a soft huff of laughter, shaking his head with a grin. "Isaiah and Leo. Dads, huh?" he repeated, clearly picturing it. He folded his arms loosely, a teasing spark in his eyes before it softened into something more sincere. "Greatest parents ever? Or what?" he added with a smirk. "Yeah. You two would be incredible. You both love so hard. And that’s what matters. The rest? You figure it out as you go." Jesse raised an eyebrow, a slow grin spreading across his face. "Alright, now I gotta know," he said, pointing lightly at Leo. "Who’s playing good cop parent and who’s playing bad cop parent?" He paused dramatically, then added with a laugh, "And don’t say Isaiah’s automatically bad cop just because he carries a badge. Think on it."
