Leah chewed on her bottom lip, nodding even though he couldn’t see her, then straightening up and meeting his eyes as he came back into view. “Lessons canceled. Whole lot of extra time on my Saturday not to mention the loss of practice so - yeah. It’s still Saturday.” Her smile dimmed a little at that thought, her cheeks coloring as he spoke up again. “Sorry for assuming - that makes sense. Didn’t really know you did that, either. The Field sounds alright, though, can’t say I’ve visited that place much.” Lately, whatever little time she could devote to biking had been to take her from one place to the other - not so much for leisure. She pushed herself up, almost bouncing on her seat due to the excitement, and smiled at him over her shoulder again. “Let’s go!” Her wheels were rolling before she finished the sentence, enjoying the feeling more than what was probably normal.
Jesse wasn't sure if he should stay behind her, since she was picking the path, or ride right alongside of her, so they could maybe talk Although, he wasn't exactly coordinated, so trying to ride, talk, and manage his breathing could turn into a disaster that would involve him running into a curb and flipping over his handlebars and smashing his face into the ground. "I learned to board before I learned to ride a bike, actually. I'd ride it to school except there isn't enough room for it in my locker, and I don't want it to get stolen." The way her hair moved in the wind was beautiful, and Jesse had to more than once grip his handlebars extra tightly so he didn't fall due to the distraction. "I um, I went there once? Well, once with Maxx, and then um, I hung out there once with a friend, just because it was quiet there during the day." At least she wasn't biking very quickly, which made it sort of easy for Jesse to feel like he wasn't completely out of shape. Sure, he ran around outside with Jamie a lot, but most of what he liked to do was sedentary -- video games, painting, the occasional good book (though he wasn't much for reading), and none of them were exactly giving him a six pack.
