Wow, you’re gone for a few days and you miss everything.
I understand that completely.
At least it’s Friday, right?
What’s wrong? Do you need help with anything?
Not really, classes are just tedious.
I'm so ready to ditch school and call it a weekend.
Sun, Sun, Go away.
The blonde boy walked through the square as the sun passed its high point of the day. Sunlight barred down at him, causing his eyes to flinch from the contact. Placing one hand upwards, he created a shadow for his eyes for a moment. 'Be sure to pick a spot in the shade.' His blue eyes searched around the square, meeting a lonely table occupied only by the warm oxygen. A thankful breath of air escaped Owen’s lips before he changed his pace for that location. It was still in the sun, but was not trapped in the hottest of rays thanks to a green umbrella hovering above it.
Reaching his destination, he looked quickly around the square. For a few moments he searched for Jess’s brunette hair reflecting off the sun’s gaze. Once he completed his search, he settled himself in the shade of one of the two matching green chairs. Although not the most comfortable seats, he appreciated their existence all the same. Owen’s fit body awkwardly shaped into the chair at first. The protective sunlight had made a home on the arm rests, promising at least first degree burns to whoever dared claim the space. With arms crossed, the dirty blonde attempted to look a little bit more content during the waiting period.
As Jess arrived at Union Square she immediately began scanning the area for Owen who had said he’d meet her here. The sun was out and the rays insistently bore down on the concrete floors as well as every other surface that wasn’t protected by some shade. Her fingers ran through her long dark hair and her eyes were unconsciously squinting, trying to keep the sun out of her line of vision. Eventually she had to give up and resort to sunglasses which she was almost sure looked ridiculous since she had accidentally grabbed the ones she mistakenly bought at a store; ones that were two sizes too big for her face. They did the trick though and she spotted Owen in almost no time. “Hey.” She smiled and offered a small wave of her hand in greeting, a feeling of relief or thankfulness..Jess couldn’t quite tell which one..washing over her as she took comfort in the shade. Any seat in the sun surely would’ve burned her bare legs on contact but the umbrella prevented that from happening. Immediately the brunette tore her sunglasses off her face and placed them back in her bag, vowing to return them to the boutique as soon as she got the chance. “You haven’t been waiting here long, have you?” Jess questioned with a slight raise of her eyebrow. The semi concerned look painted on her face was a genuine one. Not being a very patient person herself by nature, Jess automatically felt bad for anyone who had to wait too long for anything, especially if it was because of her.
As long as you don’t bring them up, i’ll be sure to keep them off my tongue. Shall i meet you in the Union Square in the city? We can maybe walk around a bit before heading back to school too; if you’d like.
Sounds fun, it's supposed to stay nice outside all day so hopefully the weather won't be fickle.
Ughhhh
You might have the right idea there. Although maybe this time I shouldn’t drop it constantly and then it might work better.
Ooh yes, taking better care of it might be a good idea.
Yea.. i guess i really could. Im just glad to finally get my head out of the school books. Maybe i just need some fresh air, and get away from the scents of printed paper. I think i might take a walk, maybe even leave campus for a few hours. Do you think, maybe, you would like to join me? If i won’t stress you out too much, that is.
Sure, why not. I think I'll be fine as long as you promise not to talk about exams.
Good to hear. I wish i didn’t have to bring them up at all. It’s always such a stressful time, which makes everyone so irritable too. One of the worst times of the year, and it won’t leave my mind alone.
You sound like you could really use a break. Or something to take your mind off school or something, it's stressing me out just listening to you talk about it.
Ughhhh
Yeah, but it sound speaker is about as good as Robin Thicke is at trying to be subtle.
Might be time to upgrade or replace it then.
Ughhhh
I don’t think you can install that into my car.
Don't you have a phone?
I became the activities manager on the student council if that counts for something, I also have seemed to acquire several juice bottles to sneak booze into the party.
If you weren't able to I'm like 99% sure someone else would've snuck some in. And they still probably will regardless..well depending on who you invited.
Oh i understand that. I hope that all of those things worked themselves out nicely? I still have a will to live, so i suppose i’ve won the battle for now. Can’t promise anything when midterms roll around though.
For the most part. Midterms are too far off for you to be bringing them up now.
