Firebolt (The Dragonian, #1) by Adrienne Woods

Could not put this book down. This is the first YA novel I have read in a while and the story captured me from the beginning. Great world building and interesting characters made every page juat as good as the last. This was one that kept me up into the night just to find out what would happen.

Daughter of Lions by Catherine Banks

This book felt like a series of its own, and yet it never felt too rushed or overwhelming. No longer a teenager myself, I feared that I wouldn't relate to the heroine in a meaningful way, but she is written so that I found it easy to fit seamlessly into Tori's head and see the world as a 15-year-old does. I found the characters to be amiable and read it practically in one sitting because once I was invested, I needed to know how it ended. Overall, well done and would recommend.

The Taming By Teresa Toten

This is an amazing book that addresses issues that are difficult to face. It reminds us that no matter what situation we are in, our friends will always be there for us. Sometimes the people closest to us are not who they seem, and this book faces those situations head-on. Eric Walters and Teresa Toten gave this book a poetic feel and made it easier to swallow the pill that is this plotline. Definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants a book that makes you feel for the characters.

Ask the Passengers By A.S. King

I recommend this book to anyone! It offers an interesting, relatable viewpoint of someone struggling with coming out and the discrimination they face both from within the LGBT community and from their small town. It is funny and sad and heart warming all at once.

The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air, #1) Black, Holly

This book's was a slow start for me but by the end I couldn't put it down until I had finished the last page. This is one I will be thinking about for a long time.

I have such mixed emotions about these books. Each one has been a struggle for me to get through until the last 50 pages and then at the end I can't decide if the amazing ending was worth the rest of the book.

The Queen of Nothing (The Folk of the Air, #3) Black, Holly

This book made the series for me. The other books felt lukewarm and meandering while this one was well paced and intriguing. This was an incredible finale book to the series wrapping up everything in a satisfactory way.

The Bookshop of Yesterdays Meyerson, Amy

This was a slow, character driven story about a woman discovering herself all over again following the death of an uncle she had loved and forgotten. It is sweet, and sad, and thought provoking. It is lovely.

I read this book all in one day, my heart starving for the sweet innocence of this book. I laughed and cried with the characters, growing with them in a way that may have re-shaped the contours of my heart forever. I loved this book and I hope it is able to give your heart what it gave mine.

Of Poseidon (The Syrena Legacy, #1) Banks, Anna

Following Emma's story after the tragic death of her best friend; I wish this book had focused more on grief than it did. Chloe's death was simply used as a plot device. That being said I did enjoy the politics that were brought up in this book and I didn't anticipate the ending.

Thin Love (Thin Love, #1) By Eden Butler

This book is one I had to love slowly in order to make sure I appreciated every moment. The characters at times certifiable mood swings had me feeling like I was on a rollercoaster of emotion myself. I rooted for them, I hated them, I loved them and at times I even cried along side them. Butler told a story that kept me interested right to the last word about characters that will stick with me long after the book is closed.

The Unlikeable Demon Hunter (Nava Katz, #1) by Deborah Wilde

I loved this book. It was adult fiction meets demon hunting in very R rated Buffy way (and who doesnt love a little bit of smutt and a kick ass female). I hope more readers get the chance to love Nava the way that I did with her snarky attitude and affinity for all things sexy. <br/> The writing style was fantastic and the characters were relatable, lovable, and hilarious. I will be waiting anxiously for the second book so i can continue to see what Nava gets up to and how she continues to develop.

Evil Twin by Kati Wilde

A story of 2 extremely devious characters. An attempt to exact revenge on the sibling that has caused them so much pain and suffering all their life. The end goal is gaining a kingdom of their own. In the end they achieve that goal, but they wind up with far more than they bargained for. 

This is a short and sexy read. I enjoyed the world that was created with kingdoms that have been fighting a war against a paranormal enemy. Enough of this world was explained without it feeling confusing, while the world-building also wasn’t overwhelming. There is an element of shifters and enchantments/curses in this paranormal romance.

Seducing a Stranger by Kerrigan Byrne

Following the story of Carlton Morley and Prudence Goode we watch as they go from strangers who have a spicy and unlikely meeting to suddenly being thrown together on opposites sides of a mystery. The chemistry between these characters was incredible and following Morley's adventures as a vigilante who is doing what the law cannot was an intense reading experience. This book was fast paced, and showed a tremendous amount of character growth for both Morley and Goode. We are able to watch Morley move forward from the trauma's of his childhood and grow into a man that takes care of Goode and grows into her love. I enjoyed the experience of reading this book immensely and thought it offered an interesting addition to the lives of the characters who have previously shown up in the Victorian Rebels series, introducing the Goode family to readers. I gave this book a 5 star rating and would certainly recommend picking it up.

Four Seconds to Lose by K.A. Tucker

Out of the entire series, this book is decidedly my favourite. The characters were so enticin,g and the book never left me unsatisfied; I found myself trapped in this mystery of a love story from the first page. Finally getting to know and understand the mystery that is Cain was so mind-blowing, and everything started to finally come together and make sense. The timeline of this series was confusing at times, and the overlap between books was random at times but I loved them all nonetheless. These books are definitely a to-read if you like tough female leads, male characters with secrets to tell, and a love story that will keep you on your toes.

Yours, Insatiably by Aveda Vice 5 Stars

This was the stunning continuation of the story of Avirin and Pye. Avirin is a succubus who requires the energy of others, Pye is a fae she works with who has a big crush but after they had an unexpected night together the two of them are doing anything they can to avoid each other.

This story has positive representation of sex work, a relationship that functions while both partners continue to have sexual contact with other people, and a long distance relationship in which both partners communicate openly and effectively.

The “Hero” of this story is a non-binary gender fluid moth person. Pye uses “they/he/whatever” pronouns.

By constricting her pupils and ensuring she feeds regularly it is easy to get by and continue to succeed in her job. By ordering the services of willing participants through an app designed for monsters like her she has gotten this far. But one night her co-worker Pye is the fae standing on the other side of her door, here to fulfill her every fantasy. But if they go through with this  and give into their desire their working relationship will never be the same. 

This story has positive representations of sex work and a world full of diverse monsters who coexist peacefully.

And when she is bad her father locks her in the dungeon with the long dead bones of her mother who died giving birth to her down there. The women of Earth has been told that they must be constantly vigilant and repent for committing the seven sins. The population of women to men on earth following World Ward Three is 10:1 and the men must take many wives, punish their wives to keep them in line, and breed them constantly because fertility is low. 

First Daughter is promised to the leader of an Alien race who walks on 8 tentacles but has the upper body of a human male. The planet he takes her away to comes with many dangers, but her new mate is protective and kind in a way she has never experienced. This kindness and acceptance cause First Daughter to re-evaluate whether going back home after the required 6-month trial period is the best decision for her.
