disgustingly genuine. jett sort of smiles without reason to, a lot of the time, and itâs just something ze slips into and zir lips are always pointed slightly upwardsâyou know how some people have resting bitch face? jett has the opposite of that, zeâs smiling constantly and the only downside to it is that some people believe zeâs fake because of it; thatâs really not it. jett doesnât think itâs worth it to frown or really exude negative energy because ze thinks people go through enough shit. ze doesnât care if people think zeâs fake, either, because at least some people appreciate it.Â
zir real smile, the one that pops out when zeâs inexplicably happy, is a little different. the only real difference in it is the way it makes jettâs cheeks hurt and ze holds them for a lot longer. but not a lot of people see it, either, and itâs really only reserved for zir parents and older sister. ( jett doesnât think they know the difference between them, but the difference doesnât really matterâonly to zir. )
7. how they like to dress
in a lot of pastel and bright colors! a lot of greens, especially the ones reminiscent of mary blairâs peter pan concept art. but generally, itâs just a lot of color, usually only dark pants and even thatâs iffy. during the winter time, jett wears a lot of colored corduroys, so long as seasonal collections allow it, and a lot of striped sweaters. ( for #peak gay aesthetic, obviously. ) during summer time, ze wears short overalls with bikini tops / bralettes / graphic tshirts underneath, ze doesnât really care about whatâs underneath. and like, zir style is playing it âsafeâ but thatâs exactly how jett likes it. ze doesnât want to be too out there, nor get any unwanted attention.
jackets are zir favorite thing and ze owns more jackets than pairs of pants. zir fave is a bomber jacket, hugely padded and in the style of fear of godâs bombers. a looot of zir jackets are huge ( and supposedly unflattering, tbh ). for accessories: thin chokers, never tattoo chokers, rings on most of zir fingers, constantly painted nails. shoes are a little tougher and, again, ze owns too many of them.
the deal with jett is that zeâs adopted and, starting in middle school, a lot of zir friends just assumed that ze had a bad relationship with zir parents. thatâs so far from the truth, itâs ridiculous. jett fucking loves zir parents, fucking loves zir older sister. jettâs also naive enough to think everyone loves zir in the same way which is⌠not exactly true, especially where claribel is involved. ( because sometimes jett feels like a legitimate burden to claribel, like a bratty little sister who doesnât know how to do anything right. ) but anyway, jett has a great relationship with zir parents.
and ze misses them way too much with being away for college and what not. ze canât talk about themâexcept in passing, mentions them in passing a lot, especially zir mom. zir momâs probably their favorite in the mabryâs small nuclear family even though jett knows ze shouldnât pick favorites and that zeâs lucky to have everyone the way they are, it just kind of happens. momâs the one zeâs closest to, after all.
