Headstrong in the world with the wind at my back!
It is almost the end of April, I am feeling the weather change as well as the vibes around campus. The angst, the stress, the fatigue, it is all getting into the students around campus. I walk through the hallways of my dorm and see all sorts of things from cramming to crying. I think to myself âdo not complainâ quite often, but sometimes it is hard to think of all the things you have to get done and the time in which you need to get things done by and for some reason I feel that it not enough. There are times where I feel like quitting but then I realize how far I have come as a student and as an individual and then realize that throwing in the towel is not an option. I am taking five classes, I am an RA on campus, I am a server at Chiliâs, I am in a gay fraternity, I am all these things and I think to myself I just need a little time, cause Ive overcommitted myself, I am sleeping so little these days, but Iâm guessing this is growing up. I have noticed way more cigarette buds outside my building by the DSA the closer its getting to finals. Almost a month left of school and I am sure many college kids have spent over their budget on self medication such as pot which definitely adds up. Everyone copes with things differently, that is where mindfulness kicks in. I have noticed that I feel amazing after every show, sometimes I am tired during our radio show but I feel accomplished after every single one. I know that there are many ways to relinquish stress but I think my best stress reliever is being in the studio and just having fun with something I love doing.Â
Although I am ready to go home for the summer I highly encourage everyone to be mindful of what you have around you and be aware that everyone has their own baggage. I am looking forward to finish this semester strong as well as adventure the city more once school is done and then finally head over to Los Angeles for a wonderful summer break.Â
For those crammers that just love to procrastinate here are the library hours among other hours of operation here on campus.Â
