Year 2 Information Design Module
In celebration the 60th anniversary of Godzilla, i decided to base my final info graphic on the Godzilla franchise i.e every godzilla film made and the year it was realised, box office ticket sales for each film and Godzillas relation to some of the key monsters that feature through out the series.
Advertising work from my second year of my FDA Graphic Design Course at city of bristol college
Our second module for advertising saw us come up with a new advertising campaign for one of two companies, Any Forty Or Pukka Pies. I chose to do Any Forty becuase i thought the company was something that would appeal to me more.
Any Forty is a London based company that specialies in graphic design and illustration colabrative work. They sell such things as T-shirts, stickers, skateboards and phone cases. I loved the brand and everything they stood for and some of the artists they've worked with are brilliant. For my campaign i wanted it to stand out when viewed by the general public and i wanted it to reflect the brilliant artists they've worked with. So i went for the idea of 'high-jacking' and already exciting advert to advertise Any Forty in a graffiti/street art style. this way it sticks in peoples heads because they start to wonder if the ads actually printed that way or if it is the act of some 'Vandals'.
Advertising work from my second year of my FDA Graphic Design Course at city of bristol college
Here ive posted my final adverts for trunki from our first module for advertising. Me and my team mate decided to go with the theme of clashing adverts and tried to mash trunki adverts (that would appeal more towards children) up with other adverts (those that would be more informative and have a older target audience. So we tried to clash trunki ads with ads for cars and brief cases because each product has similarities. For example, both the trunki and say a brief case are built for the transport of important things. Like wise, a car and a trunki are built for easy travel. With the bottom two ads we tried a more sutall approach to our concept and tried clashing them with health ads. We did this by thinking of pains you'd get from traveling with an unhappy child i.e head aches, sleep deprivation or even constipation in some ways. I think the excision of these finals could have been done a lot better, but none the less I'm happy with the general concept behind our advertising campaign.
Corporate Identity module my second year of my FDA Graphic Design Course at city of bristol college
For This module we had to design an entire identity for a fashion exhibition set up by the British council. The exhibition would showcase in Moscow and would then go on tour around the world. We had to design a logo, an invite to the event, up to three examples of page spreads for an exhibition magazine, way-finding for the exhibition and signage for the exhibition. Our identify also had to be bilingual because of its locations on the tour. Here are just a few of my final outcomes.
Branding and Packaging work from my second year of my FDA Graphic Design Course at city of bristol college
For this module we had to design and brand and some packaging for a high end Norwegian fishcakes company. This meant we had to design a eye catching logo, come up with a brand story and packaging that reflected Norway through its design. This is what i designed.
DVD packaging module from the first year of my FDA graphic design course.
For this module we had to design a limited edition box set for a series of films or a certain director. The packaging had to reflect their work as a director and had to be recognisable as that certain director. I decided to go for a slightly different approach and design a box set for the music direction team Alex and Martin. They've been behind some of the most iconic music videos like "seven nation army' by the white stripes, 'Shoot The Runner' by Kasabian and 'Vertigo' by U2.
Book cover re-design module from my first year of my FDA graphic design course.
For this module we had to re-design a cover for a well know book, either 'The Wind And The Willows' or 'The Big Sleep'. I chose to go with the big sleep because i saw it posing as more of a challenge because i didn't know anything about it compared to the wind and the willows.
Some Experimental typography from my first year of my FDA Graphic Design Course at city of bristol college.
For this brief we had to create a piece of typography based on the BBC sound bites clips. One of the sound bites i listened to was interviewing people from Bristol and a phrase they used to describe someone who was 'ugly' was 'A face only a mother could love'. I thought this was a brilliant and funny quote to use so i ran with it.
