Summary: There wasn’t a ton that stood out about this town to Kiara. Her family has moved all over the country including several spots along the east coast, so the salt diffused air and rolling waves were nothing new. She didn’t feel the need to get attached to anything or anyone here, it would only be a matter of time before her parents ripped her somewhere completely different to start all over. She had made her peace with that.
The two blondes laughing and twirling together in the center of the party seemed to have other plans for her. The girl and boy seemed about her age, with equally shining golden hair and bright infectious grins. They seemed like the kind of people who could pull a smile from even the saddest souls as their undeniable energy made its way throughout the entire beach.
Kiara kept her eyes firmly on them, unaware she was staring now. Soon they noticed her from the crowd, the girl's eyes lighting up with joy while the boy’s darkened with mischief.
She was screwed.
