It is a beautiful moment, truly.
The First Look.
For those of you still hearing about all of the new wedding trends, the first look is a popular one. The first look usually takes place a couple hours before the ceremony occurs, after the bridal party is finished getting dressed. It is when the groom gets to look upon his bride before she walks down the aisle and it’s a great shot for the photographer to capture.
Picture this:
The groom has his back turned when his bride appears. Sometimes, couples say a prayer or share some time of a bonding activity before the groom turns around. Nonetheless, he turns around and there’s this great expression on his face, maybe a few tears, as he views his bride for the first time.
It is a beautiful moment, truly.
Some love the trend, some hate it. For me, I am a little more traditional. I want to lock eyes with my groom for the first time the moment I turn down the aisle. However, first looks allow you to take the biggest bulk of bridal portraits before the ceremony, allowing portraits during the cocktail hour to take a lot less longer!
There are some alternative options for those who don’t absolutely LOVE the first look, but like the idea... in which case, New blog coming soon. Haha!

Something I love about ring shots is how there is so much emphasis on the wedding ring(s). You’re probably thinking, “Well, of course! It’s a ring picture- what else would the emphasis be on?” However, you’d be surprised how many people overlook the importance of a ring.
A wedding ring is a timeless and physical symbol of eternal love. Each ring, bride and grooms’, is also a symbol of who that person is. We pick out our rings based off of who we are and what we love. Eternal love for someone, whom you chose to love for who they are. Each and every one of the couples behind these ring photos are perfectly represented.
These rings are extraordinary symbols, which is why there are several photos in every wedding album, of the ring solely. I chose each of these photos based on the personality I saw in each symbol of eternal love.
Ring photos are so special and hold so much meaning. Everyone should make sure to reserve a few shots for their rings!

It is so discouraging to be a student and a “part-time” wedding coordinator, planner and designer. While trying to only book a few weddings a year (enough to pay the bills), I’m taking 15 credits spring, fall and sometimes summer semester. I am tired! Most, if any readers, are probably thinking to his/herself, “just focus on school, then start your career.” But my passion is strong. I want to befriend each client, I want to meet in coffee shops and gather the details. Details, i love the details!
I don’t WANT to be taking these classes. Although, I am learning so very much and I am truly grateful of any opportunity to have an education. It is still difficult to jungle something I need and something I am crazy about! I have so much experience and am so excited to get ahead in this and make every bride’s dream come true.
If you’re reading this, be patient with me! I am strugglin’!
Thinking about having a lake wedding?
If you’re thinking about having your wedding at a lakeside venue, there are some things you should know.
Lake weddings are beautiful. Your photographer can truly get some amazing shots with a lake as your backdrop. Something about water is so peaceful and intimate. However, there are some things to be picky about when searching for your lakeside venue:
First, how public is this venue? If you don’t want people splashing in the lake behind your ceremony or in the background of your photos- make sure the venue is either private or has a private setting for a wedding. I have sent a bride down an aisle that was crowded with the public walking to and from the pool. Not as romantic as it might sound, haha!
Unless you like the sound of boat motors, people screaming, or the smell of grilled burgers around your wedding- do not pick a holiday weekend if you’re going to have a lakeside wedding. Again, do you want boats and random people in your photos? I think this point speaks for itself...
Generally, lake weddings take place in the summer, which means heat strokes! If you chose a live band, you may have to work around them more then they work around you. Instruments are their babies! Bands do not like to be near water or in hot sun with their instruments. If you plan on having a live band at a lakeside wedding, find them a dry place, in the shade. They’ll want chairs, water at the ready and just may be a little more high-maintenance, and rightfully so. They want to perform their best for you and your guests. They are not only booked with you but are playing for a crowd of people who may like what they hear, and also book with them! Allow your band to be picky if you choose a lakeside wedding, and if you want the best of the best performance. If you don’t want to deal with it, find an dryer venue!
Overall, there are very few negatives that come with a lake wedding. A lake wedding can truly be made into a gorgeous event with the right precautions and team!

This dress is so elegant.
This is so gorgeous. I fear the doors and curtains on a windy day- a wedding planner’s nightmare! I want to make sure everything runs perfectly.I do know that I can’t please everyone, but I can try! I love to make visions like this come true.
