"No. It's not normal. But you don't come from a very normal family, either," she told him quietly, patting his cheek. "We'll look into some anger management classes, yeah? Maybe some self defense? My nan used to say aggression is easier worked out through activities."
“She’s right,” Jillian sighed, “But that doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t. I always wondered if sending you both to that school was a good decision.. But it’s good you learn to deal with simple people. In a healthy, nonviolent manner.”
“You mean there’s something more violent than people trying to fight me all the time?” James asked.
"I don't know what the kids at that school have against you James, and I know it isn't right. But if you keep getting into fights, people are going to start poking around and that's dangerous," she sighed, giving him a tiny smile. A tired smile. "Just try not to get into anymore fights, alright? Try."
"She's right," Jillian sighed, "But that doesn't mean that they shouldn't. I always wondered if sending you both to that school was a good decision.. But it's good you learn to deal with simple people. In a healthy, nonviolent manner."
"I didn't say you were or weren't, now did I?" she asked with a sweet smile, kissing his hair. Jillian knew better than to pry into personal matters, even if it was her son. Besides, it really didn't matter much to her in the first place. "If people have any mind of their own, they won't think a thing. They ought to keep out of what doesn't concern them."
Jillian pursed her lips. Because honestly now she herself wanted to hunt down the individual and rip his... No. No, she needed to keep her calm. "You would think children would stop being so closed minded," she sighed before walking to the boy and cupping his face in her palms. "There's no shame in who you are, no matter what that is. And I've told you that so many times. Next time, though, I want you to be the bigger person and walk away. This time, though, I can't blame you. I'd have punched the little bastard in the face, too."
