As I am reading another press release for AYS?! 2 it kind of strikes me again how incredible it is that we have AYS at all.
Two of the biggest names in one of the biggest groups are 'allowed' to separate themselves as a unit and make this show together.
I think we at times fail to realise how incredibly meaningful this is.
If we go by optics, it seems, if you pay close attention that is, that these two guys are the closest out of the band and they have no plans to stop.
AYS reinforces that notion by having them express terms akin to 'deepening the bond' and 'affectionate natural chemistry' in the press releases accompanying the announcement.
And they are 'allowed' to express that without fear of that notion impacting either the band or the artists' themselves.
Isn't that actually incredible?
I say 'allowed' because there's probably been all sorts of meetings regarding this very thing. Meetings about the marketing of this show, how to balance the tone of the language used about it and how this unit's show can co-exist within all the other content they put out. How some members are freely pursuing a little distance from the band while others can be recluse and still maintain their bond with their audience. It's what all that talk about trust was about.
Visually, singling out two members who are also incredibly appealing separate from the others, can lead to intense speculation as to why this duo keeps choosing to be singled out.
How long can 'mere' friendship be used as an excuse? Will the joint enlistment be added to the equation to strengthen the argument? A joint enlistment that wasn't explained further btw, it just happenend and everyone had to swallow it wether they liked it or not.
That was one of the biggest power plays by Jikook. Sexy.
Generally, as a brand, you don't want one thing you put out to bite another thing. And AYS has teeth. We all know this. When you look at the amount of articles, hate and discourse it generates you know that it has an impact on the artists', one way or another. On either the band or on KM's personal image.
So, logical conclusion is that the positives must outweigh the negatives, no?
The benefit of expressing an honest and intense love is worth more than all the scrutiny their bond generates.
Think about that.
I think very little of the hate reaches the two people at the center of this scrutiny. Why? If they were aware of such things on a granular level it wouldn't be beneficial for their overal mental health. It can't be allowed to penetrate their bubble on a personal nor professional level.
They are too important and too smart and wisened by past actions to allow such a thing to damage the soil. Furthermore, it reinforces for me that Jimin and Jungkook's relationship is vital to the survival of the band. It was inevitable that it would develop further due to their close proximity, that it would be best to let it be nurtured and allow these two to say 'fuck it' to the optics and to just let them be together.
Inevitable. When the love is strong enough to withstand any outside pressure.
All of this to say that this show proves Jimin and Jungkook have incredible leverage! Leverage to make this show happen and to make everyone agree with their desire to be singled out as a unit.
One way or another, the singling out of Jikook amongst the group was approved. And we should be very greatfull because anything that 'threats' the optics of discord within the band would normally be suppressed. And the fact that this wasn't, tells me that the members either aren't 'threatened', or they simply agreed because they have no or little issue with it. Because they support it either silently or vocally.
That or KM just don't care. Which seems unlikely for two people with a huge heart for honesty and openness within the band. So that balloon just doesn't fly for me.
Also,.. Jijeongguk?! New ship name hot off the presses? π
Damn, if we ever get a book on the real story taking place inside bts, the artistic, management and human dynamics ect, I'll be the first one to buy it.

This just makes me reflect on how traveling should be completely normal and ignorable even, for two famous and rich people like Jijeongguk (LOL). But this layered frame that surrounds them is made of multiple stories, multiple trips, in specific moments of their lives, sometimes private sometimes recorded, and that leads you to wonder a bit, going like βis this really just about traveling?β. Thatβs what makes it matter so much every single time.
Because I asked myself this a lot. Whatβs so special about this show, aside from the fact that I get to watch them in it being far away from the idol scene and feeling closer to me? Why are we so emotionally invested? Yes, Sapporo was romantic, and they talk sweetly to each other, and eating carbonara from the pan in Connecticut felt domestic and genuine. But would it be enough to make Are You Sure become such a great stimulus for my heart and brain?
Your words here encapsulated the answer I was looking for perfectly. Itβs not just because βwe love themβ, or just because βtheyβve got chemistryβ, or even just because βthey look like a coupleβ. All of these are valid contributors but wouldnβt be reasons as lasting and intense as our bond with the show is.
The answer is that there is commitment behind it, which adds to the other thousand times Jikook chose each other in this lifetime. Thereβs power behind it, meant as traveling together and choosing to film it in the name of love and despite the chat around it.
Theyβre together together, like for real, romantically or not. Only a true and loyal union could lead to such things.

Okay so first things first: the word coincidence needs to be BANNED from Jikookers' mouths. Like completely deleted. Obliterated 1300% It needs to not exist anymore. No seriously, how long are we gonna keep using the word 'coincidence' and Jikook in one sentence before we all collectively decide to agree they do this shit on purpose?

We know, like even if you're an anti you know JK has studied FACE. @jigokuhana and I were just talking about this, JK has everything about FACE memorised. He is prolly a bigger fan than all of us combined. And don't forget he saw everything before we did. So he knows what he's doing. Knows that we will catch similarities btwn FACE and SEVEN. Armys have noticed many things that Jikook (n members) tried to hide from us and I know over the years they have to have seen us noticing some of these things. So how will we fail to notice something that's right infront of our faces? And he knows this. Of course he knew we would notice.

When u support Jikook, u discover that they are actually really sappy/corny motherfuckers so you inevitably start to get corny yourself sometimes too. This is what my friends (one of them being @lovelysmyleyes) had to say about this. I'll just copy paste them, coz I absolutely agree.
The spikes being directly on Jimin's body feel like it was a more direct hit. JK wearing the spikes on the jacket is more of a defensive maybe? Like a by-product. Almost like He was acting as a shield.
The 'shots' weren't directed at him so even if they hit him they would not have pierced the skin. Whereas it was directed at JM and meant to go deep.
It is understandable, The first thing you want to do is protect your partner the best you can.
Or it can represent keeping others away from them. Roses have thorns on them to keep people/living life forms away, after all.

Like, its not even that far fetched though. When Jimin was going through what he went through JK saw it all first hand. Isn't that why we assumed he kept skipping LC in the beginning? Coz it reminded him of that time and it prolly wasn't pretty. He didn't like to remember Jimin in that bad place.
I for one believe JK was there for Jimin every step of the way. Jimin said members were there for him, I'm sure his family was too and most importantly, so was JK.
Thats why he wrote letter. He said it was his turn to be grateful. His turn to give back.

I know some Jikookers work very hard in trying not to be delulu (not me. I jump in head first, always. Ha haa) and I applaud that. I do. But these are way, way too many similarities. Even the most clear headed Jikooker has got to find this sus.
