SUMMARY: Hugo stares and has some gay thoughts about his weird, water obsessed co-worker with that weird tattoo. anyways they share a cigarette together at the top of the rig and we all know how hetero that is!
Life on the rig wasn’t exactly amazing, it was mostly isolated, the work was enough to snap his spine in pieces, the food kinda sucked, and it was well… oily. Hugo swore the view of the waters from all the way up was a bit of a nauseating one. He was surprised that Walmer of all people very much enjoyed it as he saw him wading in the water. It was cute. Smoking a cigarette from the balcony, Hugo saw Walmer pad around in the water before finally getting out, shaking himself dry and looking like a wet cat. Walmer walked over to the man before swiping his cigarette and taking a drag of it.
“Indirect kiss much?” Hugo said before he could stop himself. The man grinned at him, the strange tattoo on his chest wiggling a bit on its own as well.
“Maybe,” Walmer suggested with a coy smile. Hugo reached back for the cigarette and took another drag. The two did this along with back and forth banter until the sun began to set, its light shining down on Walmer like he was some heaven sent angel. It was true though because to Hugo Walmer was his angel, all big and strong, and protecting-
Hugo had felt a wet hand wrap around him, causing him to shiver. The water ever so slowly soaked through his uniform until he too was vaguely drenched and freezing. In response to this, the bastard that was Walmer pulled Hugo tighter against him, and snatched the cigarette before taking a selfish drag for himself. Hugo snickered, and the two continued to share their intimate moment atop the rig, with Walmer pressing some actual kisses to Hugo occasionally between drags, until the night ended and they slept together in each other's arms.
A/N: Sorry this was so short everyone, I started this fic months ago and got too burnt out to finish it, especially with school and work but I finished it anyways!!! I hope you enjoyed reading this, lots of love!!
SUMMARY: Walmer was a picky eater. A very picky eater. Hugo makes it his mission to ensure his alien boyfriend tries something new.
A/N: sorry this took so long I ran out of motivation halfway through along with ideas, and then decided to end it off now instead of letting it rot in my drafts so sorry if it's a bit lazy D: other than that, enjoy!
“Wally, Walmart, Walter-” Hugo Called as he began to make dinner for him and Walmer.
“Walmer.” the man responded. Hugo assumed that Walmer never fully understood that it was simply banter when he called him a million nicknames that were a variation of Walmer. The man walked into the kitchen while chewing one another one of those mushy brown protein bars. The guy had already burned through a whole case of them in under a month, maybe even two weeks. Hugo stared at the disappointing mush that the blonde had clutched in his hand with such a deathgrip.
“You really enjoy eating those things?” Hugo asked.
“Of course, it’s nutrition. Obviously I need nutrition to live.” Hugo was aware that on Walmers planet, people, or Nautilus for that matter, really only ate food for whatever nutritional value, instead of simple pleasures. He could tell based on how adamant he was on eating such bland, tasteless mush that was those damn bars. Hugo wanted to at least expand Walmers taste buds by a little bit, so he decided to at least try and make something both nutritious and delicious. He rolled out the dough on a floured counter while looking at Walmer.
“Maybe we can try something new tonight for dinner, Wally. Pizza?”
“Pizza.”
“Yes, pizza. I can put different toppings on it for the nutrition you want. Pepperoni, pineapples, mushrooms, peppers… anchovies?” Hugo spread some sauce on the flattened dough, Walmer watched with a curiosity.
“And cheese?”
“Yes Walmer.” Walmer squinted at that, pursing his lips as Hugo sprinkled toppings over different parts of the pizza. To Walmer, the one with the pineapple chunks looked the most appealing, or as Hugo called it: Hawaiian. Walmer didn’t know what made it ‘Hawaiian’, but it looked appealing in terms of nutrition. Cheese in calcium, pepperoni in protein, veggies in vitamins and other cool stuff, it was all appealing. Hugo put it in the small oven and turned to face Walmer, who reached down to kiss his cheek. Hugo giggled at Walmer being so affectionate with him. Hugo returned the affection with a kiss to the cheek as well, and they sat and waited patiently for the pizza to finish cooking, Walmer still chewing away on the protein bar while squished beside Hugo at the small kitchen table.
The oven dinged, and Hugo went to take it out of the oven. Walmer sat expectantly at the table, waiting for the pizza to be cut and handed out. When it was, the man stared at the slice on his plate. It was cheesy, had lots of sauce, was on the greasy side, and had a few proteins and vegetables on it. It didn’t seem very healthy, but he would give Hugo credit for making it taste good. Hugo stared at him with a small smile as the picky eater took a bite of the pizza. To his shock, it was good. Really good. Compared to the bland protein bars, Walmer had never tasted- or seen anything like it. Hugo smiled at him, a genuine smile that showed he cared enough about him to make him a whole pizza to try. Walmer figured he’d make a point to hug the man tighter that night when they went to bed.
A/N: thanks again for reading! I hope it was great and you liked it!
Summary: Walmer spends some quality breaktime with Hugo on the rig! Some words are exchanged.
It was like any other day on the rig for Hugo. Here he was doing his rounds and duties around the giant, hulking platform before a pair of rough, dirtied hands covered his eyes, a heavy yet comforting presence behind him.
“Guess who?” they said, a deep yet chipper voice seeping into Hugo and wrapping around his weary heart.
“Walmer?” Hugo said to nothing, or the nearest towering structure on the rig. Walmer chuckled and his hands slid down to the man's sides and turned him around to face him.
“How goes, Hugo?” Walmer said as he looked down at Hugo with what could only be described as pure, unwavering affection. Hugo rested his own hands on Walmers broad shoulders, occasionally rubbing small circles.
“Pretty good now, Wally.” Walmer huffed at the nickname, briefly turning his head away and pouting.
“It’s Walmer.”
“I know,” Hugo laughed as he pushed himself against Walmer, bringing his hands down to wrap around the blonde man. Walmer, despite doing this hundreds of times with Hugo, is still a bit stunned at the feeling when Hugo wraps him in such a gentle embrace, but comes to accept it anyways. It always seems to scrub their strange rivalry clean from his mind each time he does this, and it always makes him giddy for nightfall when he and Hugo get to cuddle closer in their cabin without prying eyes on them. Not like that matters anyways since Walmer technically cant be seen on cameras in some instances. Walmer welcomes this embrace from Hugo, wrapping his arms around the shorter man and resting his own head atop of the others. The space felt warm and fuzzy, and Walmer pressed the occasional sweet kiss to the top of Hugos head, while Hugo sang sweet little nothings against the taller man's chest, making Walmers head swim with words he longed to say, but inevitably when time came to say them; like now, were caught in his throat.
“You’re beautiful Hugo.”
“I love you.”
“You mean more to me than you know.”
“Can’t we stay like this forever?”
“Hugo, Hugo, Hugo.”
“Your smile really is like staring into a nebula.”
“I wish I could spend more time with you Hugo.”
“Won’t you marry me someday?”
“I love you Hugo.”
That last one was the one that was the hardest to say for Walmer. He and Hugo had been like this for a while, yet neither wanted to say that damn ‘I love you’. It felt like trying to cross a rushing river when there was no bridge. You could either get swept away from the current, or cross it properly and see the smile on that special someone's face when you reach the other side. Walmer pressed another kiss to the man's forehead, raising a hand to card it oh so gently through his hair. It was soft, very soft, and it was Walmers favourite part of getting to hug Hugo. he almost thought now would be the best time to tell Hugo he loved him, nobody else was around to let some disguised alien admit his real feelings to a fellow crew member, but he still wasn’t sure.
Come on Walmer! You can do it, he thought. And if Hugo says it back, then you both can be together. He paused to dwell more on that thought. Maybe Hugo wants to say it too! Come on Walmer, you can do it, he can do it, we can do it! He pictured that poster with the lady that said “You can do it!” that occasionally was pinned up on the rig in some places. He heard Hugo refer to her as Rosie Rivets, or whatever, so now he thought of her posters everytime such a daunting task came up, like this one. He never thought he would be seeking guidance from a poster like it was blue collar scripture, since it was a war time poster, but motivation is motivation, and Walmer should definitely say how he really feels towards this man of his dreams. Literally.
“Hugo,” Walmer said as he lifted his own head off of the other man’s.
“Hmm?” the other man muttered as he still had his face pressed into Walmers chest.”
“I love you..” Walmer whispered.
“Pardon?” Hugo looked up.
“I.. love you, Hugo.” Walmer looked down at Hugo, his eyes soft and caring. The man smiled upon hearing Walmers confession.
“I love you also Walmer,” Hugo hummed, before placing both hands on Walmers face and pulling him in for a kiss. It was soft, gentle, and caring. The next step of their relationship sealed with said kiss. Walmer hummed and reached down to cup Hugos cheek with one hand, and raked through his hair with the other. They stayed like that for what was probably a good five minutes.
……………………..
Later that night in their cabin, Hugo and Walmer crammed themselves into Hugos tiny bottom bunk, just cuddling together. Hugo was nestled close to Walmer, who was practically curled into a ball to try and fit in the space. His arms are wrapped around Walmer, rubbing gentle circles, and the other man's hands are in Hugos hair, sometimes pressing a kiss to his forehead. Hugo looks at Walmer with a soft gaze that is generally uncommon for him.
“I love you Hugo,” Walmer hummed gently.
“I love you too Wally,” Hugo murmured softly before learning in for a kiss. The two workers fell asleep together, intertwined and full of love for one another. They spend the rest of tonight, and many more nights, together like this.
the end! OMGOMGOMG i enjoy these two sillies smmm ahhhhhhhh
