Some people on twi said i draw Miquella ugly, with square jaw and Godwyn-like. I decided to fix these issues and draw the most beautiful twink Miquella ever using byzantine design made by my enemy @buriedknight (please check the full design by them it's beautiful, i made it way simplier)
Not to mention this is an act of solidarity. He’s saying “even if the entire world is against you, I’m on your side.” Which I think is important for a kid to know. He’s refusing to be a bully to his child, even if he doesn’t understand.
I work at Hot Topic and we had a white suburban dad in who was buying matching heavy metal/screamo band shirts for him and his teenage daughter and said “To be honest, I think this stuff sounds like garbage, but she likes it so we listen to it together and we’re going to the concert for Christmas.” And it was just really heartwarming to see him so involved in his child’s life and validating her interests.
“I don’t get it, but I love how you love it” is one of the best things anyone can say. My entire family asks questions about comics because they want to share my enthusiasm for them and support me, even though they otherwise wouldn’t pay attention to the industry at all.
I went though a goth faze in my teens (like most) and I wanted more than anything to paint my room black. My mom was supportive of my personal expression in terms of my clothes and hair and accessories but she was genuinely concerned about the toll a black room would take on my mental health (I was already prone to recurring depression at that point and still am). I begged for months to repaint my room, but she wouldn’t budge.
One weekend i spent with my dad and when I came back she had repainted my room. A beautiful deep blue on three walls (my favourite colour), lovely sky blue on the ceiling,and one wall was black. The black wall had been sanded smooth and painted with several coats of chalkboard paint. She gave me a couple boxes of chalk and told me to have at it. I LOVED that black wall and wrote on it every day. I drew on it, I doodled, I wrote out my favourite emo song lyrics, wrote reminders for myself, anything I wanted. It was my favourite part of my room and was something that it would have never occurred to me to ask for. It was something only my very creative and clever mom could have come up with and I’m still grateful to her for it.
In retrospect, a room of black walls would indeed have been encouraging a reacurrence of my depression and my moms answer was the perfect compromise. That black wall ended up being the most colourful part of my room.

I’m going to throw up … it sounds crazy but. I think I know what the Hornsent did to Marika’s home village now. And why she hates the Omen so much, why Messmer shows them no mercy 😭😭
Please, look closely at the jar innards in Belurat Gaol… they look like Marika … 😭😭 even the brand on their forehead looks like a mix of her and Radagon’s current symbol (as seen on their soreseal)
If my whole family were kidnapped and stuffed into jars because others thought it’d make them saint, I’d go insane, become literal God and take revenge on them too idk.

If Marika came from a village whose ppl were thought to be inferior and should be stuffed into jar to be reborn, yet she went and became a God, while the Hornsent failed to reach divinity, despite proclaiming themselves “chosen people” (Stalwart horn charm +2)… yeah I can see why they said she betrayed them and that she’s a wanton strumpet. 🙃
Also I think the “seduction” is from the Two Fingers, telling her to accept being a vessel to the Elden Ring and it’ll grant her the power to avenge her people. Look where she ended up now 🙂

EDIT 3: She was salvaging the remains of her people and made them the symbol of her divine ascension. their death and suffering would never be forgotten, and the day will come when vengeance would be theirs.

EDIT 4: Update about the mistranslation of Greatjar description leading to players thinking people from Marika’s village are also helping Hornsent hunt down their own people. They are not!
the stone tablets in Shadow Keep’s Storehouse are the exact ones in Marika’s bedchamber in Leyndell 😂
Messmer was bringing all those documents back to his mom 😂😂😂
This supports my theory that during the start of the Crusade, Messmer was still going back and forth between Leyndell and LoS. The upper echelons must have confronted him in one of those trips and that’s the last time he could see Marika.
Also, while I see why people will view the Specimen Storehouse as glorified trophies for the Crusade, if you connect it to Marika’s bedchamber in the base game it doesn’t seem to be the case. because back then when we walked in Marika’s bedchamber no one knew wtf are those tablets 😭 if they were merely glorified trophies, they would have been displayed differently, not hidden in her room taking up more than half of her bed…. I think Marika is srl trying to understand why the Hornsent did all those things to her people and other clans in Land of Shadows (the Curseblade, the Frenzy Flame followers, Lamenters, etc…)
I don’t think Messmer visits the jar clinic in his Keep often… they remind him too much of his Mother.
Btw, he wears a golden ring on the middle finger of his left hand…
in Palmistry, that indicates responsibility, balance, justice. usually it’s sth the head of the family wear, but no other characters wear sth like that. he’s truly the sole heir to all of Marika’s happiness & all of her pain.
