Nicho is a representation of hope in society, that no matter what you cannot wipe out the humans need for want. Nicho is very much optimistic (almost naively so) and willing to help out anyone who needs help; and in a  totalitarian government such as 1984, it causes him to loose his life.
Nicho is forever kind, that’s the one thing that the party cannot take away from him, just like Winston and rebellion.
I listened to like, a little less than half of a 1984 audiobook (NO SPOILERS) but who cares? I still hope I’m allowed to be in the fandom. I created this type of thing called an Overseer, or basically the second-highest ranking for Oceanic citizens. They run the ministries, and are just below Big Brother in terms of power. Thank you!!! Moko is Native American but was adopted as an infant by a couple who lived in the United Kingdom (his adoptive father being French and his adoptive mother being English.) He grew up in a posh household and was the top of all of his classes - specifically being into human anatomy and the usage of herbs. Along with this Moko attended a boys camp that specialized in the art of foraging and camping with limited supplies between the age of 11-12. Despite having excellent grades, Moko was constantly teased and mocked because of his ethnicity by other English children and he often felt like he was never taken seriously. After the crash, Moko happened to land furthest from the other children which resulted in him not being able to group up with them. Luckily he had some knowledge of foraging and hunting and was able to ground himself. (As seen in other adaptations) He happened to find a luggage containing a wolf’s pelt which he wears to ward off that could harm him! He is able to utilize what materials he has, like wrapping parts of his trousers around his feet and hands to allow him to easily maneuver through the jungle and climb trees. When he finally unites with the other boys he is able to help them identify helpful plants and find the best fruit trees. I like to think perhaps Jack would immediately see him as some sort of competition which would lead to a slight rivalry between them.
Scott Kross at the start is a very isolated boy, his violent tendencies along with his temper makes him more of an outcast than anything else. As time goes on in the island, he feels more at home than anywhere else. Why is he so comfortable in something so wrong? Why does he long for it once he’s on the ship?
Scott represents the want for the undesirable in society, the thought in the back of your head that crawls and rests there. Is your humanity based on your truest of thoughts, or is it your actions?

My biggest guess is Gene didn’t see Finny find beauty in the mundane. I don’t remember much from the book (need to re-read it) But I remember Finny being someone very passionate and ecstatic.
