Adrien van Viersen: This is my fave panel so far….mostly because it’s loaded with Easter Eggs. Not to dismiss or demean anyone’s Superman knowledge, but here is the list: Reign of the Superman is the very first Superman story by Joe and Jerry that they self published in 1933. The ‘Amazing and Startling” comes from the movie poster to the first Superman serial. The Superman figure is from the back cover of Superman #1 with the shield altered to accommodate my story. Bill Dunn is the main character in that first Superman story. I appropriated all of this to make him my strongman at a carnival that Clark Kent tries to interview (the impetus of this being that Joe and Jerry modeled the Superman uniform after the strongman).
