he spends ( probably ) a whole day in the water. so much so that his skin gets all wrinkly. sits or lies down on a floatie and possibly sleeps while he’s floating on the sea ( he doesn’t wake up until a strong wave pushes the floatie and he almost falls )

doesn’t swim and just stays under the shade. brings one newly bought body moisturizer and sunscreen. “i don’t want my face to burn.” he says. he also loves to borrow your hairclips and put them on his hair while doing his skincare ( he looks adorable while doing so )
tries to impress you by surfing and failing miserably. doesn’t give up and continues trying. he’s fine if he keeps failing as long as he gets to see your bright smile and laughter.

plays beach volleybal like his life depended on it. loves to try it for the “experience”.

unknowingly reaches for his phone after training. sure, he’s miles away from home, yet he finds himself staring blankly at the screen for five whole minutes before hearing tsukishima snort from behind him.
“if you miss them so bad, just call. gosh, will a tiger bite your ass if you do?” tsukishima shrugs and leaves the room.
definitely feels embarrassed after tsukishima’s suggestion but agrees nonetheless.
his heart immediately flutters once he hears your voice. he hugs his knees and curls up somewhere in the corner of the room, listening to you speak.
“tobio? are you listening?” you ask for the 10th time, then as if on cue, he snores. oh.
𖦹 USHIJIMA WAKATOSHI

conversations with him are always:

goes on facetime and tours you around the camp, ignoring the knowing stares of his acquiantances that are silently judging him for being all sweet and cutesy around you.
gets so clumsy while touring you around ( accidentally drops his phone, trips on a staircase, etc. )
your dynamic is basically—you asking him a question and him humming shyly in response.

mr. “need you, miss you.”
late night calls are always present in your relationship
would take a midnight jog around the campus while listening to you talk about your day
ALWAYS waits for you to end the call first
“hajime?” your voice, soft and tired, silently yawns his name. he hums softly, leaning towards the speaker of his phone.
“sleepy?”
“yeah” you reply, and he smiles softly. “mn, okay. good night, let’s talk again tomorrow.” then a few seconds later, he hears your soft, peaceful breaths through the speaker, and he figured that you already fell asleep and forgot to end the call.

claims that he “misses you like crazy, it’s insane.”
definitely gets all whiny around everyone, especially osamu ( said twin later takes a picture of atsumu all splayed out on the floor and squirming like a baby )
“ew, can you stop doing that?”
“samu, you’re so mean!”
“i’ll really send this to y/n if you don’t stop.”
sighs a LOT. is also frustrated a LOT. so whoever’s practicing with him has to deal with his monster sets without a break.
if you have glasses, he’d try them on out of curiosity. and, in need to feel romantic, he offers to help you wear the glasses again, but instead of putting it on properly, he accidentally pokes your eyes. ( apologizes a hundred times even though you reassured him that you’re fine )

gives you his jacket whenever you feel cold. if it’s still freezing, he’d hold your hand in his and look at you with a worried expression etched in his face.
“still cold?”
“it’s better.. how about you? you’re practically trembling!”
he laughs, then leans his forehead to touch yours, “i’d explore the entire antarctica butt-naked for you. this temperature can’t harm me.”

in another occasion, he envelopes your body in an embrace and rests his chin on your shoulder. “let’s stay like this for a while.” he’d mumble while he lowers his head and buries his face on the crook of your neck.
after a moment of silence, he may or may not leave a tiny peck on the base of your neck before pulling away and staring directly at your eyes. he sighs, a content smile stretching upon his face, “thank you. god, i’m so lucky.”

enjoys the peaceful environment inside the shop and often takes stolen glances whenever you’re immersed in the book you’re reading.
he finds you beautiful all the time, but there’s just something so special about you when you become so immensely interested in something. the way you purse your lips slightly as you scan over the pages, the way your eyes light up in amusement when you find the plot interesting, or simply when you turn to look at him with a wide smile on your face upon finding “the love of your life” ( book )

i just KNOW your dates would include: cotton candy and amusement parks

he won you a ring pop and kept it a secret until you two rode a ferris wheel ( cliché i know but trust me )
“proposes” to you on the ride, and you gladly accepted, giggling as he slipped that tiny ring pop on your finger while he glanced up at you with puppy eyes.
bonus: he probably realized he was in love with you at that exact moment and made a promise to propose to you, properly this time, with a proper ring and a proper attire.

dates with kenma are peaceful. you’d often find yourselves at home and cuddle while watching movies.
