Many non-humanoid splices are created for jobs in hostile environments– monkey-seal-anglerfish hybrids for deep-sea repair work, bacterial dragonflies to combat air pollution on Orus, jellyfish birds for high-altitude or low-oxygen aerial environments. Those are the ones people know about. Wealthy Entitled secretly commission very specific splices for espionage and the like.

Jupiter shook her head, not remembering anything. She was with Caine on Orus then…nothing. She looked around her, looking at where she was, clearly confused, then at the woman who looked exactly like her. Jupiter felt the familiar feeling of being pushed down the rabbit hole. Where was Caine?She felt stupid asking this question, but it needed to be asked. “Who are you? And where am I?” she asked.

Xerra sighed. None of this is going to be particularly easy. She had a few ideas, a plan A and a plan B if everything else fails but preferred to concentrate on plan A.

“There is a possibility if I find out what the Emperor has exactly experimented with. If not, the other possibility is to travel to a remote planet. I’ve got an old friend there.” The ghost of the Sith she encountered on Korriban before her family got killed and she was kidnapped was very experienced in the matters of a similar nature.

“But before that let’s get some rest. Don’t worry, these are the lower levels of the planet. Our quarters will be in the government sector.” Xerra got off her stool and gestured to her guest showing which passage way they were to choose.

“My shuttle is in the hangar not far. Just stay close. And one more thing”, Xerra unbuckled the brooch-like holder of her hooded cloak and offered it to Jupiter.

“Put this on until someone else hasn’t noticed you.”

I already had to wipe a couple of person’s memories, she mused as she lead them quickly towards the little hangar for the mini-crafts.

Jupiter put on the cloak and put up the cowl to hide her face. Once again, she felt lost and confused in a world she didn’t understand. She wanted to find Caine and go home. She followed Xerra to the hanger and only occasionally glanced about her. After seeing the splices, the aliens didn’t surprise her. “From one strange world to the next” she murmured.

I’m still here I’m just having to do time management now. I’m more active and every day I am doing something, so on the rare day I get free I play lord of the rings online all day. I get about an hour about 3-4 times a week to write.

“It seems that I’m responsible for arranging a temporary place to stay for you until this is all resolved. It’s not safe around here for any stranger especially for the one being my exact copy.”

This was an unprecedented situation she was sure the Emperor would accommodate. Jupiter couldn’t end up as a usual trespassing prisoner.

Jupiter didn’t see she had any option, nor a better solution. “Very well” she said calmly. She felt that strange feeling again, the one she had felt several months ago when she looked at Kalique’s statue of her mother. To think that only a year ago she was living a small life in Chicago.

I’ll be back writing soon. Today I’m just going to do some solo writing. Thanks to those who have been patient. I decided to work out the week I started back at work so my legs feel like two huge bruises and I am pretty tired :-)

By the end of next week Neoma should be caught up and I will have Ashley and Lora out and work on the 2nd fic for JA and then Mora. When I get off the wagon it takes time to get back on it so thanks again for being patient.
