"I canāt believe this is happening."
She couldnāt believe it either. It wasnāt as if the world was coming to an end, but the situation was still horrifying enough to be considered unbelievable. The two of them stood a few yards away from a building that was immersed in flames. It was but a few moments ago before the two had the exit the building along with other people.
After they were evacuated from the building, the surprise explosion erupted the entire block, shaking nearly the whole neighborhood. If they hadnāt smelled the gas leak from the busted pipes they would certainly be on the eleven oāclock news, and their bodies would have been licked clean by the spontaneous flames right down to their bones.
"Are you alright though?" She hadnāt bothered check herself since she was the one of the few to have fallen on the pavement; earning herself a Ā scraped hand and a bruised knee.
"I-Iām fine.." He managed to say to the female, his voice getting softer as he observed the building engulfed in flames, staring at the smoke that came from it while feeling a bit sick to his stomach. It was a new experience, and never has he felt so scared to see something as bad as this. He was thankful that he was alive however, and that the other was able to point out the smell before he could. Jeongguk was actually starting to catch a cold, so his sense of smell was getting weaker. He flinched at the explosion, scooting closer to her in fear as the ground shook beneath them.
Averting his gaze from the horrendous sight that brought chills to his spine to the one standing beside him, he scanned her with his eyes quickly just to see if she had any injuries. It was when he saw a bruise on her knee and her hand bleeding a little that he grew even more concerned. āBut you on the other hand,ā He realized she didnāt take a look at herself, taking her hand and looking at it closely. āHowās it? Does it hurt a lot?ā His thumb gingerly brushed over the scrape as he inspected further.
