A bit like home || Changmin&JaeJoong
Changmin walked into the Hufflepuff common room, his arms full with food. He had just gone to the kitchens, like he did often. The house elves already thought of him as a regular and had some things prepared for him at all times. Right now he was happily chewing on one of his favourite muffins; a triple chocolate chip muffin with white chocolate frosting.
Tonight , however, hadn’t been just a regular visit to the kitchens. He knew exactly what day it was today. He was proud of himself, because he had kept track of the calendar for once. Even though he didn’t really have to, he just had to look at his older brother and he would already know. His brother’s mood already gave everything away. To him, at least. For a stranger, Jaejoong would just be a little moodier and darker than other days, but Changmin would immediately recognise this behaviour for it only occurred once a year. He himself also had such a day, the day his biological parents left him.
Today he had a mission; to cheer up his big brother, Jaejoong. That was the reason he went to the kitchen this night. Okay, maybe also a little to get himself some yummy muffins, but mainly for Jaejoong. That was why his usual pile of sweets consisted mainly of the things Jaejoong liked the most. Changmin looked around the common room, looking for his brother. He was quite sure he would find him here, knowing from experience that the older boy wouldn’t be able to sleep. He found him sitting against the wall on the opposite side of the room, so Changmin walked over to him.
“Thank God, I’m glad I found you here, Jae! Please help me eat all this food,” Changmin said while plopping down next to Jaejoong on the floor. “The house elves were so happy to see me, they didn’t know how fast they had to go get me some food. Before I knew it all twenty elves had each given me two pieces! Two each! That means I have 40 pieces!” he exclaimed excitedly. “Well… Maybe not 40 anymore,” he added sheepishly. With his usual smile on his face he started handing Jaejoong’s favourite treats to the groggy boy next to him, hoping this would cheer him up at least a little bit. If not, he had to think of something else. He was prepared to do anything, because he would do everything to cheer up his brother.
Jaejoong barely noticed anything around him. He probably barely noticed where he even was and that he was in the common room. Even though he was sitting quite a bit out of sight, he was in the common room. He should have gone hiding somewhere in the wood and stay there for a day. Maybe that would actually make him concerned about otherthings. Like a pack of wolfs running after him trying to get a little piece of him.
But he wasn’t. He was sitting in the common room that was by now basically empty. The fire in the fireplace moving a little bit, almost going out as if it was a sign that he should go to bed. But he knew he couldn’t sleep. He wouldn’t be able to sleep for a very long time. If he was able to sleep at all. Though he knew he should try, as there would be a few people worried about him if he walked around the hallways like a zombie. When he heard a voice in the room he looked up. Especially if the voice actually called his nickname. He couldn’t help but to smile a little bit. His little brother. Well not by blood, but he really was his little brother.
“Please help you eat all the food..? Min what the hell did you bring along?” he said and smiled a tiny little bit. Of course he wasn’t happy or wouldn’t forget what happened this exact date. But his little brother always managed to either distract him or cheer him up, even a tiny little bit. “They were so happy to see you they gave you that many things?” he asked with a chuckle before nudging Changmin. “I think they rather gave it to you to get you out of the kitchen faster. Before you would pillage their whole damn kitchen and destroy their hours of works,” he stated, teasing his brother a bit. He knew how big of a eating habit the other could have. But as long as he brought something for him as well, he wasn’t going to complain.
Shaking his head he took a piece of cake that Changmin had brought along as well, probably knowing he loved pies alongside a lot of other things. “So how much did you already eat? You aren’t going to explore right?”
