Hey aminals tumblr can anyone weigh in on if this is as Not Cute as my gut tells me it is? I see a playful dog interacting with a rabbit as if it were another dog, and a scared rabbit being harassed by what it sees as one of its natural predators. HOWEVER I am terrible at discerning Happy Binkies from Fear And Aggression Lunges so maybe both are having fun?

rabbits are pretty simple when it comes to play. they run real fast, jump real high, dig dig dig, and throw objects around with their awful teeth. I don’t have much context to go off, but this looks to me like the “run real fast, jump real high” part of play with a canine spectator.

if the rabbit was feeling threatened, you’d expect something like this. see how the rabbit is attempting to leave the situation, but switches to offence when the fawn gets too close? rabbits don’t shy away from violence, so you can expect boxing/lunging when they feel threatened by a predator (or in this case, a curious baby deer).
