Everyday thousands of kids are bullied, down graded, rejected... hurt. It could be you, or me, or the new 20 year old neighbor, or the 80 year old man down the street. You can't stop it, but you can beat it. In hight school, when your faced with a choice of popularity, or being who you are, it's easy to pick the more glamorous route, right? But for those who just can't 'fit in', or better, those who 'stand out', they don't get that choice. But those girls who laugh them you and about them, who are the superior ones, the 'REAL' ones, those are the ones who are popular.. well... What exactly is the definition of real? Dictionary.com give's 5 definitions.. one being:
genuine; not counterfeit, artificial, or imitation
So now lets break it down, but lets start with the word Artificial... what are some things that are artificial? Make-up is one, isn't it? Its a physical object, yes, but its main purpose is a mere optical illusion.
Next is Imitation, all that artificial make-up, and the designer clothes, it all makes them look like they should be in a cheap ad for a clothing department. like they are Imitation someone famous, say a model.
Finally we come to Not Counterfeit... well as the great dictionary says:
1.made in imitation so as to be passed off fraudulently or deceptively as genuine; not genuine; forged
Need I say more? If THIS^^^^^ is popularity, I would MUCH rather be the most unpopular girl in school. That isnt real. Real is being who you are. It's okay to stand out, some of the best people in this world where never good at fitting in. Do you think people like Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, or even that Arnold guy in california ever 'fit in' ...I didnt think so. Be who you are, because in the end, no one is better at being you than you. THAT is as real as you can get. THAT is real beauty.
PS- heres the big question: are you REAL or are you POPULAR? :)
