The Sacred Spine: Jacob’s Ladder and the Hidden Path
Your spine is not just structure.. it’s a mystical staircase, the inner Jacob’s Ladder, the axis mundi where body meets cosmos.
In Hermeticism, as above, so below reveals itself through the 33 vertebrae - rungs of initiation leading from the root to the crown. Each step is a gate. Each gate, a mystery.
At the base, the serpent sleeps - Kundalini, Sophia, the prima materia. Her rise through the spine is the soul’s alchemical ascent, unlocking ancient memory and divine union.
At the 33rd step: resurrection. Not of flesh, but of consciousness.
This is the secret of Christ at 33 - transmutation, not death.
The cross is the spine. The crown is the light.
The twin serpents of the caduceus spiral upward in sacred polarity. When they meet, the wings unfold. The divine child awakens.
This is not escape.. it is embodiment.
You are the temple.
You are the wand.
You are the bridge between heaven and earth.

European mainland went to the unprecedented lockdown from mid-March 2020 for the ever evolving Corona crisis. This series of artworks from 2020 and 2021 represents the love and hope despite the loneliness and despair of this passing time.
What is at stake?
These works are heavily inspired by other artists, photographers, and journalists. I've tried to acknowledge them to the best of my memory, but I am sure I am missing many of them.
