There's no words as she bled out in his arms, just her hand reaching up to linger on his face as she steadily became colder. Her smile softened, mellowed out into a melancholic one while she took in his face for the last time. And then her heart ceased.

  There’s    something    he    remembers    as    he    feels    her   slowly   slip    away.    //    CAN’T    WE    JUST    BE    KIDS    ?     How   he   wishes   this    world    of    trickery    and    hearts    could    vanish,    he    wishes   he   could    turn    back    the    clock    and    never    have    agreed   to    save    the    world.    How    could    he    save    a    world    without    her    in    it   ?    His    mind    is    racing    but    his    eyes    remain    glued    on    her   as    the    knife    slips    from    his    grip    and    clatters    to    the    ground.    //    HE    KILLED    HER. 

No    one    was    supposed    to    die,    no    one     was    ever    supposed    to    get    hurt.    No    matter   how    bad    people    were    they   all    deserved    a    chance    to    live,    especially    her.    He   swore   her    after    this    was    all    over    they’d    finally    be    normal,    have    time    for    themselves.    //    WHAT    A    LOAD    OF    BULLSHIT. 

There’s    blood    all    over   him    – her    blood.    The    smell    alone    made    him    sick,    but    he   held   onto   her    as    if    she    still    had    a    chance.   Tears    sting    his    eyes    as    he    watches    the    last    bit    of    life    drain    from    her.    //    SHE’S    GONE. 

He    cries.    Screams.     His    throat    burns    but    his    iron    grip    on     her    body    doesn’t    move.    Finally    he    gently    sets    her    on    the    ground.    Making    sure    she    looks    peaceful.    She    deserved    peace.    Ignoring    the    world    around    him    and    focusing    only    on    her,    wishing     there    could’ve   been    another    way.    Wished    he    could’ve    saved    the    world    that    had    her    in   it.
