with iris against her chest it was easier to hold onto calm, it came with her, though corey was more than capable it was just…nicer with iris. needed. valued. vital. her lips pressed into her hair and she inhaled scent, flexing her arms around her. this was how things went in this place, a new floor was reached and here they all were kicked right into it. best to adapt and move forward and see what it all had to offer. it just didn’t fully soothe over how many players they’d just seen vanish to nothing.
“you’re not losing your person and i’m not losing mine.” link would strike down every person she came into contact with if she didn’t know that iris was okay. better that than not and finding out someone responsible for hurting iris got to slide. thankfully iris was fine and she held her tighter.
is this where you go and propose to me, corey?
“no idea what you’re talking about. did you hit your beautiful head?” the words were warm and soft and her cheeks got warm, her eyes detoured from iris back to their surroundings. “well, i’m hungry so let’s find some place to eat first.” corey was always hungry though, so….it was a normal unsuspecting thing to suggest, right? super true.
corey dropped her hand to lace into iris’ and she gently pulled her along with her so they could walk, explore a little. “new york isn’t all that great. there’s a reason i hit up alaska so much.” yeah well, that reason was actually iris so, she digressed and shrugged. “by best fine dining do you mean, reservations or a buffet because…” corey wasn’t the best to ask about those things. food was food to her, the more the better. “what sounds good?” she glanced around for signs, steering their steps to keep people from walking into them, which was unavoidable because an npc walked past and poked her arm and then kept walking. “why do they do that?”
this was better when she was around corey. better when she had corey with her, and that she knew she was safe. she wasn’t dependent on her girlfriend, but she did much rather do things with her. it was why they both joined the game together. both of them wanting to play. even when iris went out for runs, it was corey coming with her. when corey went hunting, iris came with her. there would be days where the other would prefer staying at home, and that was fine too, because they just got to love on each other when the other came back home. it was much like this, when corey went out hunting iris would stay at home, cooking food for her waiting for her to come back in, and then they just got to spend the rest of the night curled up with each other, and just love on the other. she didn’t care about the game, didn’t give much of a thought to anyone else. corey came first to her, it was always going to be like that, everyone else was expendable. though she wasn’t used to big cities and their lights, but she was managing with her girlfriend beside her like she was.
the both of them were careful in game, making sure they didn’t do anything stupid that might warrant their death’s. they didn’t go looking for battles unless they actually by mistake stumbled upon one, but they were never without the other anyway, always close to where the other was. she nodded her head hearing her, pressing a soft kiss to her throat, a light hum passing through her lips. “good. because i don’t think i could survive through this if you weren’t right beside me.” though they believed that the whole ‘if you die in game, you die in real life’ was a hoax, iris was still worried about it in a sense that corey could be dead if iris made it out of game. if she did lose her in game, iris would do what she could to get out, to see if that was true, if it were? she wasn’t so sure she could continue on living without her.
hearing her, eyes rolled and she looked at her when their hands were laced together. “the dms, corey. you told me you should of married me.” she murmurs, her heart skipping beats, though her girlfriend did this acted like she didn’t know what she was talking about, and sometimes iris would find out that, she in fact didn’t know what she was talking about. but she was positive that she knew what she was talking about in this moment. she couldn’t help the chuckle that passed through her lips, boots hitting pavement as they walked, honey eyes looking around them to see if anything would pop out at her girlfriend. iris wasn’t fussy when it came to food, and she knew corey wasn’t either. both of them could eat anything though they were healthy in a sense that all their vegetables and meat were rather fresh, their drinks were organic, because that’s the way iris liked her things. didn’t mean they didn’t eat candies and things, because they did.
she smirked when she heard her words, pressing a kiss to corey’s cheek. “mm, wouldn’t have to do with with amazing boobs and attitude would it?” she asks her, nudging her shoulder into corey’s before she was giving her hand a squeeze. “plus, a lot more to hunt down there in alaska than probably new york.” she adds a shrug of her shoulders given because iris wouldn’t know that, considering she had never been. “definitely a buffet. can’t be bothered with reservations right now, i just want to go on this date with you, then head back home where we can have our desserts.” she whispers to her, trying her best to avoid the stupid npcs around here. she was tempted to just kill a few, let this place be a little less crowded. she watched one poke at her girlfriend, and iris shook her head at her question before another one did the same. “i think they’re just attracted to you, baby.” she teases softly.
