Another symbolic #hansry painting, this time for Hans
For Hans, Henry is his guardian angel, flaming sword an all. Like the smith's forge, it is both a flame that can create as well as destroy, and it's up to Henry as to whether he wields it for vengeance or protection.
Hans' painting is a lot more colourful and less gloomy than Henry's, and his demeanour is one of cheer and embracing his partner's need to affirm himself in the world instead of denying or trying to hold himself back. Whether Henry is wild wolf or tamed dog depends much on the opportunity.
But for himself, as much as Hans embraces fortune, at his roots he wants to prove to Hanush he is worthy of the code he has sworn to.
I like to think that Hans brings much necessary light to Henry's life. While they both are surrounded by war, its Hans' ability to bring out the thirst for life that is often buried in Henry. So I thought of painting something that showed that gift of life he brings.
I try to go through iNaturalist and ID some critters at least once a week so here are some of the most wtf things I've seen on there recently:
A prairie rattlesnake incorrectly identified as a garter snake. In the photo it was being held by a person with bare hands. Most butt-clenching thing I've ever seen on here
A baby raccoon that had been "rescued" and was chilling in a cat travel cage thing with a slice of pepperoni pizza ._.
(More wholesome, less wtf) An interaction between a Portuguese-speaker and an English speaker on the topic of IDing an eel. Portuguese speaker asks if the eel was found in salt water or fresh water. Its worth noting that the Portuguese word for fresh in this context (doce) is also the word for "sweet". English speaker responds with "I tasted it and it was pretty sweet I guess. I wouldn't drink it but it was more sweet than salty." Don't drink the eel water folks
The flattest looking cicada I have ever seen with the annotation of "alive". Press 'x' to doubt.
Observation of a bunch of fire ants with no ID at all (usually people at least put something like "bug" or even just "animal") or any annotations. The only other thing beside the picture was a comment that just said "they bite :(". They sure do mate. Left an ID and some suggestions for managing the ow :,)
This one may have been a joke but somebody uploaded a picture of a garden hose in the grass, IDd it as a snake, and asked if it was venemous.
