The patron saint of angsty rock music and pineapple on pizza, Leigh is a reserved but eccentric misfit with a penchant for the macabre. They spend much of their free time holed up in their bedroom, smoking clove cigars and pouring their soul into any one of their numerous creative hobbies. They play point guard for the boys’ basketball team and goalkeeper for girls’ soccer. Outside of sports and the art world, their favorite pastimes include brooding in a dark corner and re-watching the same four Quentin Tarantino films.

Introducing: Candyfloss, a visual novel by and for trans and non-binary individuals

Hello! I’m Mal, one of the founders of a small indie game team by the name of Jockstrap Penguin Studios, and I’m pleased to announce the development of our first visual novel, entitled Candyfloss. Without giving too much away, Candyfloss centers around a group of transgender and non-binary teenagers of various shapes, sizes, colors, and backgrounds and—in (stereo)typical VN style—features a cast of diverse characters each with their own unique route. Our team is composed of trans/enby writers, artists, composers, and programmers, and our goal is to create a visual novel that accurately and respectfully depicts trans, enby, and questioning characters of all walks of life in a serious but somewhat lighthearted manner. 

We’ll be posting here with any updates, character profiles, fundraisers, calls for more team members, and progress reports shortly, so be sure to follow for more information! Our ask box is open for any questions, comments, or general feedback.

JPS Discord now live

Hello! It’s Mal again, and I have some news regarding our project. 

Our Discord server is now up and running! Myself and the other devs are all there and, while we all have lives outside of Candyfloss to attend to, will try to answer any questions regarding the state of our VN, character development, and progress (without spoiling the plot, of course!) To prevent an influx of trolls or harassment, you can message me to request the invite link. We don’t have much to show in the way of development, but when we do, Discord members will be among the first to know.
