jodie: i can take on anyone to win my rightful crown, he doesn't scare me! just tell him villanelle will hunt him down, if that doesn't immediately do it then maybe i should be a little scared. anyone who thinks they can take her on are either very scary and deranged or just sadly uneducated and misinformed. it's so lovely to use my character to my advantage. jodie couldn't hurt a fly but then here villanelle is, scaring everyone into giving me everything i want. i should have picked up a character like this years ago!

Those are the kind of people I know who have no excitement in their life. I feel like they are so miserable and just upset all the time because they don’t have anything to perk them up. My favorites right now are Hamilton, The Lion King, West Side Story and Grease, I have a few others but those are the ones I can think of right off the top of my head.

Right? It’s like have you ever felt one emotion in your entire life? To not at least like Disney? Bonkers. Your taste is immaculate, love. Mazz: About a month. I know that sounds so recent. But then we have known each other for quite a few years.

Jodie: I feel like in most circumstances yes, that would be early but if you've known each other for years and feelings have been developing over time then I think that feels more genuine, you know? I think so many people get so wrapped up in how good it feels to have a partner and they like them and the feeling so much they just jump right into calling that love but if you REALLY know this person then I don't see an issue with it. That and there's the whole "when you know you know" argument.

Jodie: Do you think it feels like they're ready to say it back too or do you think that if you do they might hold off? That can be a deciding factor, too.

Im not a fan of musicals but i did watch one in New york called wicked that is probably my fav to this day although thats the only one i have watched other than the lion king haha idk  just not a fan of watching people sing out parts if that makes sense. I would rather just hear them talk instead.

I suppose that’s fair. I do think everyone just assumes I’m talking about stage musicals too but I mean film ones as well, those happen to be what I opt for even though I do love a good stage musical too. Wicked is by far one of my favourites in that category as well! Were you a big fan of The Wizard of Oz growing up like I was that made you love Wicked so much? I think whoever thought of doing it from the wicked witch’s point of view was genius! I’ll take a story from the villain’s side over the protagonist’s any day! They’re much more interesting! Who do you think is the best villain of all time? Not just speaking about in musicals, obviously, but overall?

Just because I don’t like something, doesn’t mean it has to ruin our friendship, does it? I let my kids watch whatever they want, my seven year old daughter is pretty much obsessed with Frozen and Lion King and I just watch it with her whenever we have a chance, I don’t mind. I don’t hate music, it’s just musicals that are annoying as fuck.

Since when are you not keen on just messing around, you tosser? It’s obviously not going to ruin our friendship even if I’ll think you’re wrong until the end of time. We can agree to disagree because there are some that are beautifully done. I’ll admit I find some to be just as annoying and I wouldn’t pick most show tunes to listen to over other music, but if a musical is done right it can be the best experience! Maybe you just haven’t seen the right ones yet not that I’m going to recommend any to you because I know you won’t watch them anyways! I’ll save those recs for the next time I see Salome.

I really did love playing Killer Queen in We Will Rock You. But I do think my favourite is Donna. I have to say I haven’t had a chance to watch any of it yet. I will have to binge watch it at some point.

Prepare yourself for when you do, it can be quite intense but that’s to be expected of a show about a psychopathic assassin, right? I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but the tone of the show is so unique I think that’s what draws people in or it’s very possibly just getting to watch Sandra Oh because I’d understand that being someone’s reason for watching any day.

Oh I absolutely love musicals, I think my ideal day does include a spontaneous trip to the west end and see whatever musical is on and where I can get a last minute ticket for. Honestly, I think my heart is in the classics. There are some brilliant new ones but something about an old school musical is always a winner for me. 

Oh do you live in New York City then? I wish I had that luxury. I’ve thought about moving there a few times especially for the perks like that but I’m still such a baby at the thought of being so far from home and my parents. I’ve only just gotten my own flat and I’m twenty-eight, but to be fair for the last few years living at home was mostly just having a place to store all my things and occasionally sleep when I had the time to be home, there was a lot of filming and being away so it didn’t make still living with my family all that noticeable. The classics are my favourite as well, you really can’t go wrong with them. Something feels so whimsical and magical about them and almost makes me wish I was born in a different time period. Almost. But I’m sure you would know a thing or two about that filming Bridgerton, no? Did it make you wish you were from that era or make you happy to live in present day?

You harbor more talent and range in one pinky, than most people do in their entire body and this time, I’m not just trying to flatter you, it’s the truth. Personally, I’d rather have a Grammy to my name than an Emmy, but that’s just because music’s my biggest passion. Don’t get me wrong, I fucking love acting and don’t plan on holding off on that part of my career forever, but music’s always been the one thing I feel truly at home with. You want me to brainstorm the most fucked up psychopathic kills then turn it into a song? I don’t know, something tells me I won’t live to see my first Grammy win if that were to somehow leak. That’s totally understandable, though. When you commit yourself to a show like that, flipping through the last few pages of the final script always hurts like a bitch regardless. Ya know, you wouldn’t have to go forever without seeing my face if you would just finally relocate from Liverpool and join me in this smog polluted city. Oh, you little charmer. You sure it was just my face or were you having a moment with AJ’s ass shot, too? It’s fine, you can be honest, I’d still be more than happy to arrange this road trip with you, so I can drive you to all the pretty places. 

The only thing this friendship has taught me is that we are mutually as obsessed with each other and that you’re truly more perfect than anyone looking in from the outside could ever imagine. Don’t think you’re going to skirt by without me pouring compliments all over you right back. I’m not stopping until you’re drowning in them and probably not even then knowing me. I just wanted to joke about the baby in the trashbin but in some ways I think you’re right and her relationship with the family she chose to keep alive is proof of that. I don’t care what anyone says, she does have a heart and can’t entirely be a psychopath when she’s capable of those kinds of feelings, right? I think everyone has her so wrong; her need for love is so childlike and the way she idealizes it is so endearing albeit very misguided but understandably so. Sure she’s got a long way to reprogramming herself to be someone who could raise their own child properly but I think it would change her in all the best ways and now I’m sad we’ll never get to see and explore that. I doubt it will even be alluded to but you and I will know and that’s what matters. You’ll get that Grammy one day, I have no doubt speaking of people with more talent in a pinkie finger than most people’s entire bodies. Again, I think you’re just being biased and overly kind but thank you, seriously. It means the world coming from you. Who says I would ever leak it?! It would be strictly between the two of us and when I go around singing it and people ask about it, I will keep you completely anonymous! I just love playing Villanelle so much, I’ve never had a more challenging time learning how to play a character but because of that I’ve never had a more rewarding experience. It’s like okay so what, is everything just going to be subpar from here on out? I hope not. Babe, the only places you could ever find me moving would be London or NYC so get your ass to one of those and we can be roomies. Or not. I think that’s where all the admiration would fly out the window at an astronomical rate. Faster than the speed of sound. And what am I supposed to do with myself then? Eternal heartbreak. AJ has an ass shot in it? I swear I didn’t notice, like I said all I saw was you! Catch me rewatching it for that now! Don’t tease because I’ll hold you to it and the second I get some time off that’s exactly what we will be doing! I wanted to say I would kidnap you but I think you would have to do the driving since doing everything on the opposite side of the road over there sounds like a death trap just waiting to happen!

I feel like that’s so farfetched but I guess there really are people out there who can’t stand them. I feel so depressed for them just thinking about it. Can’t really say I have a clasic favorite but Mamma Mia! Oh it does things to me — I was SO thrilled when they called me to be a part of The Politician and what convinced me somehow was that I’d get a chance to sing. Any opportunity to sing is a yes, obviously yes. Like the one time I sang with Zac Efron’s old ass, it was one of my childhood dreams, honestly.

Hold on, all this musical talk aside, you sang with Zac Efron? When did that happen? I need all the details! How did I miss such a thing? It’s the first thing I’m typing into youtube the second I get the chance. What a dream indeed!
