PR Shots for new film
Here’s the first of the promotional shots I took for a new film being made at the moment called ‘Odd One Out’. The shot features one of the main actors Paul Dewdney.
AB World Foods Graduate Scheme
I’ve recently completed some work for ace agency Subism. I’ve worked with them in the past on the Tattu job. Subism were commissioned to rebuild AB World Foods Graduate Scheme website and got me involved to shoot some stills for it.
I spent 3 days going round some of their sites including their HQ in Kent, Kingsmill offices in Maidenhead and Pataks Factory in Leigh. The job involved me shooting their graduates working and socialising. We even got to hang out on their much acclaimed Poppadom factory line!
Here’s a few images that I took for them.
Vines shot for the Guardian
Over the last few weeks myself and Kris Hoffmann have been working on some great Vines for Direct Line’s ‘Fixology’ Series in the Guardian.
I can’t take all the credit on these as Kris has been doing the majority of the work, with myself on the photography for it. We’ve shot quite a few and there are more to come so watch this space.
I highly recommend turning the sound on for these, it’s brilliant. Sound and Musiv by Alexander Zlamal http://music.zlamal.com
You can check out Kris’ amazing work here at http://www.krishofmann.co.uk
Kris expertly animating the cushion!
The animations appeared throughout the Guardian site as part of the Direct Line sponsored Fixology campaign.

Monies Monies Monies
Here’s the 1st shot from a new personal series i’m starting featuring characters from Spam.
I decided to start off with the Nigerian Prince / 419 email scam. So here we have Dwayne Damoolah the prince’s dodgy solicitor who ready to take your monies in order to help you get mega monies.
I was really lucky to work with actor Joseph Quartson on this, who really embraced the roll and gave me a touch choice on the selection.
Styling was by the fantastic Clare Clark.
There’s more to come on this series so watch this space.
Press shots for Shell’s Fill up and Go App
Here’s a couple of shots for a recent shoot I did for Shell’s Fill up and Go App.
It was a pretty tricky day, it rained all day and I was working along side a film crew, so had barely minutes to get the shot. The shots were used in UK press releases.
Cinemagraphs shot for Shell
I’ve been making Cinemagraphs for a few years now, and somehow my Cinemagraphs found there way in front of the commissioners at Shell who were keen to try them out.
Cue a day spent at Rockingham Raceway in Northamptonshire creating Cinemagraphs using some of the teams and cars who compete in Shell’s Eco Marathon.
We created a series of Cinemagraphs on the day which were not only Cinemagraphs but great photos in there own right... which is something I think a lot of people miss.
I can’t show them yet, but watch this space and i’ll be posting them up soon.
Here’s a couple of snaps from the day.
We shot the Cinemgraphs using Canon’s EOS 1DC in 4K for the best quality video feed.
Heritage Collection for Claudia Gamba.
This is the second time I’ve worked with Claudia, having previously shot her collection ‘Future Memories’. I love Claudia’s designs, they’re unique and the quality of the material and construction is second to none. Here’s what Claudia has to say about her new collection. “HERITAGE collection implies the need to cherish and learn from one’s roots while acknowledging one’s current design identity, which is inevitably entwined with one’s own Heritage.”
Tattu - Launch Menu
In the vain of trying to regularly post updates... here’s a series of images I shot recently for Tattu’s launch menu. The dishes were designed by renowned chef Andrew Lassetter and put together by the very talented Head Chef Pedro Miranda. I can personally vouch for how good they taste, the blackened cod below is out of this world.
Tattu ‘Peep Show’ Wallpaper
This is the first of a series of blog posts I’ll be posting about my a recent job I show for Manchester’s hottest new restaurant Tattu.
For this part of the job we were shooting a Peep Show style series of images for a custom wallpaper to go inside the VIP section of Tattu called the Boudoir. Kyran Low, our stylist selected some great 1930′s esque vintage lingerie for our models, which included Suicide Girl’s Kayla Cadorna. The client wanted a classic 1930′s esque Hollywood light with a strong vignette to match the style of the clothing and the venue. The wallpaper features hundreds of shots of the girls, and really needs to be viewed close up to appreciate it. Below is the finished piece with a selection of some of the images.
Headmistresse’s office at City of London School for Girls.
It’s been quite a while since I was inside the headmistresse’s office at school, however I was commissioned by Keays and Kempton to shoot this space located next to the Barbican which they had recently designed and built. The space looked amazing, they did a great job on it.
You can check out Keays and Kempton’s amazing work here
Dotmaster’s shots inside Absolutely Notting Hill.
Ok so if you’re reading this and looking back through my posts you’ll spot that I am rubbish at posting up news! Must work on this...
So this month saw my shots of artist the Dotmasters being used in Absolutely Notting Hill in relation to his new project at The Exhibitionist Hotel in Notting Hill. You can read more about that on his own blog here:
Characters' Meals
Prop Stylist, Chu Goldmann and I decided over some coffee and cake one day that we should shoot some personal work together. We thought it would be interesting to look at the meals of characters from literary fiction and give the viewer a little challenge to work out who they were.
A little bit of a stray from my usual style, but one that was a lot of fun.
So here it is, the first 3 shots from the series, we'll be creating more as the year goes on. These first ones are quite easy, but some of the ones we've planned are going to be quite tricky.
Behind the scenes pics from our Marvellous shoot with some Mixed up Characters!
Headless Tudor chap, Tiago.
Alex Day, the costume designer getting dressed up.
Vintage cheerleader.
Posh Old Bird.
Watch this space for the finished images, they'll be coming soon!
Dandelion!
This amazing Dandelion was made by the very talented paper wizard Tom Ashton-Booth. Tom's studio is next door to mine and when I saw it I thought what a great piece of work, let's shoot it. So the next morning we set this up in Tom's studio and hey presto, here it is:
Check out more of Tom's work here: http://www.tomashtonbooth.co.uk
Dotmasters 'Trash 'n' Cash' at Imitate Modern
As part of the PR for The Dotmasters exhibition 'Trash 'n' Cash' at Imitate Modern I shot a collection of things one afternoon at the Dotmasters studio, which handily is downstairs from my own.
First up was a portrait of the artist, with a bit of fire thrown in for good measure.
Then a quick video of him making one of the pieces for the show.
Finally a copy shot of the piece made above.
Sterling Moss shot for Stay-up-Forever
I shot this about a month ago now, but as you may have noticed I've been a little slow with updating the blog...
So the brief was to create a couple of location images to be used as part of the PR for Stay-up-Forever's 100th release, for the majority of people who haven't heard of SUF they're a legendary London Techno label who were instrumental in championing the 'acid' sound of the 90's.
The main shot had to be used in a variety of crops, so we had to create an image that worked in both landscape, square and portrait, which I feel we did quite well.
We then created a 2nd shot, which was to be used more for Sterling himself after the release of the 100th record. For this Sterling wanted something really moody, edgy and hard, symbolic of the sound he creates both in his productions and dj sets.
