Blew me away at The Fillmore on Friday night!
Shaniko, OR (Aug. 22, 2016)
Mount Jefferson at dawn.
We were on our way back to San Francisco from Ponderosa Music Festival in British Columbia. This was one of the best mornings of my life, shared with two of my favorite women.
After driving south from Canada and a stop in Lake Chelan in Washington, we were somewhere in northern Oregon by 3:30 in the morning. Maya and Naghmeh more or less begged me to pull over and sleep, and I agreed even though I felt like I had another couple hours of driving in me.
What a fine place I chose to stop, off Route 97 in Shaniko, apparently – I found the spot where we stopped on Google Earth this morning – it was dark and I had no idea where we were when I stopped. The girls were already sleeping, and I took a nap in the front seat. I woke up when the sun cracked the horizon to a vast plateau surrounded by distant mountain peaks peacefully looming behind the lazy colors of dawn.
It was so cold that morning I left the car running so Maya and Naghmeh could keep sleeping. I tried to tell them where we were but they couldn’t pull their eyelids open. I hung out on the roadside in awe of this place and the silence, unaware that Naghmeh had woken up to take this photo of me in Maya’s ‘86 orange windbreaker, with a stick I found in the grass in Washington.
San Francisco, CA (Nov. 3, 2016) Almost two years now in San Francisco and I'm still a certified roof rat. This is my current job in Laurel Heights, a brand new four story home we're building! Pretty rare in the city... the owner had the old house on the lot torn down by hand and saved all the material per city law. One more floor to go and the view from the roof will be spectacular.

In August, my band The Cooper Taylor Project played it’s last show, since my good friend Ethan Cooper left town a few days later, and thus one of the coolest group of guys I’ve known parted ways. This is an iPhone recording of the encore from that show, “Mamma Shine” by Ethan Cooper. I listen to this all the time. As a band, we practiced this exactly zero times before this show. Photos by Pete Appareti, Myles O’Grady, Cecilia Sylvestre, and some unknown others.
This is the first poster ever made for a Pretty Noises show.

An awesome show every night in San Francisco. Valley Queen from LA was at Neck of the Woods on Clement Street for the On Dolphin vinyl release show last night.
