Nicknames: Sunny (only by his mom and really close friends)
Ethnicity: Korean/Filipino

Biography: Taeyang’s father left before he was born, leaving his mother to raise him by himself. He was known to be an outgoing “ray of sunshine” due to his talkative and boisterous nature. Taeyang fell in love with boxing as it was an interest both he and his mother shared to temporarily forget their hardship in the Philippines. He ended up getting a job as a WVBA commentator to help provide for his aging mother and to do what he loved.
He never gets bored of the WVBA. Considering their lack of restrictions pertaining to what people can and can’t do (Soda’s drinking, Aran’s cheating, Donkey Kong, etc…) he’s usually always hyped-up while commentating.
An old friend/colleague of his once asked him why he never thought about branching out to other boxing associations.
Taeyang simply states, “They’re like family to me! I know their moves and strategies like the back of my hand. Plus, every new boxer they bring in that place never fails to surprise me every time!”
“That WBVA doesn’t have professional standards. Some of them beat up the referee! That Popinski guy is doping on glowing soda right there in that ring! That crazy Irish made some makeshift guerrilla weapon against a minor! A minor! Do you not see it?”
“I do. I know about all that. That time was definitely not okay, but there wasn’t anything I could do at the time. Doc Louis did reassure me that Little Mac was fine, but… y’know—“
“To associate yourself with them is screwing over your career! The pay might be decent, but it’s borderline illegal what they’re doing. What does that say about you? When you’re finally sick of their antics… Sunny, I’m just worried you’ll be forced to stick with them forever.”
“I mean, I seem to be relatively well-liked online. Moreover, most commentators seem to like me. I think I can leave whenever I want, as long as I maintain that.”
“Yeah, you’re still somewhat young. Most of your fans like you for your face. Commentators like your energy. What about aging? What if you lose that enthusiasm and that cute appearance you have? Don’t get me started on potential controversies—”
“Hahah, no—actually. I’m not trying to hit on you. I’m trying to be serious here, Sunny. I… can’t help but worry about you, man. You helped me through the hardest time part of my career. I want to help you too, even if I’m out of the city. I want to make sure you’ll be okay.”
“…I get you want to help me. I’m so grateful that I have someone that worries about me as much as my own mother. But… I’m okay here. I don’t think I want to leave. I can’t.”
“I’m so… attached to this place. You know the whole thing with college, right? Everything about this place feels so nostalgic to me. I just can’t imagine myself leaving.”
“But anyways, even if something happens, I can handle it on my own. It’s my responsibility. I’m a grown man, not a child. I think sometimes you forget that.”
“Okay. You’re right. If you ever need it, I’ll always be here. Please, I insist.”
