How's weird when I choose a place avoiding the crowd, then feel a bit a bored because of not many people around

In the past, my dad and people around keep saying that I'm gifted in learning things. But eventually I found it's not true. I find myself a bit dumb instead. Can't distinguish what's right, what's wrong. Now my head is a mess, need to be re-organized with calm and patience.
