20 important study skills/tips i’ve learned from my professors
1. start studying a week before every quiz/test. seriously.
2. watch youtube videos/ted talks on the topics you are learning about.
3. get lots of sleep! sleep helps you process the day’s events, including what you learned.
4. write out your notes. it’s proven that handwritten notes help you learn better than typed out notes.
5. don’t just read what your professor gives you. find academic journals, books, etc. that correspond with your subjects.
6. read the news! especially in the social sciences/humanities, connecting concepts with current events helps you understand and process more easily.
7. exercise! this doesn’t have to be going on runs or lifting weights, it could even just be going for a 20 minute walk. just get your blood pumping, it’ll help you focus.
8. study at your desk. it may be tempting to study in bed, but your brain connects your bed with sleep, so you’ll get tired more quickly.
9. reviewing notes doesn’t have to be something you sit down and do for an hour. skim through them and test your memory while eating breakfast!
10. expand your study time throughout the day to avoid burnout. for example, rather than studying for 5 hours straight, study for an hour here and there in between your activities.
11. make your notes organized and easy to read, but not distracting. bright colors and flashy notes may seem better, but can sometimes distract from the purpose of the notes.
12. use apps such as quizlet. this way, you can go through definitions while waiting in lines or walking to class.
13. it’s more important to know concepts rather than facts. for example, you should be able to take what you know and apply it to different situations, not just the situation the textbook gives you.
14. just because the professor doesn’t require you to read textbook, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. it helps explain concepts in a different way than your professor, and a lot of times hearing two different explanations for the same concept helps you understand it.
15. read in advance. read the textbook before your professor begins going over the chapter, so when he/she does, you can easily follow what they are saying.
16. do any extra credit work that comes your way. even if you don’t need the extra boost now, you might later.
17. go to class!! if you always skip class and show up at office hours completely lost on the concepts, they’ll laugh in your face. they’ll take you 100x more seriously if you show up.
18. however, if you are sick, take a day off. it’s more beneficial to you in the long run.
19. learn how to say “no”. if you have an 8 am the next day, don’t stay out until midnight with your friends.
20. don’t stress too hard over quizzes. if you expect them to go horribly, they will. you got this.
Why are your manifestions not working?
✨ You are too attached to what you want. Let go & live your life. The Universe will provide.
✨You have subconscious blockages/limiting beliefs that need to be identified, analysed & be released. Reprogram your subconscious mind with new beliefs.
✨You are creating resistance/ coming from a place of lack. Check your self-talk.
✨ You are focusing too much on what you don’t have instead of what you do have & being grateful for that.
✨Toxic environments also create clutter and lower your vibrations. Take a look around and see how your friendships & relationships are.
✨ You are manifesting from your ego & not from your heart.
Attract what you expect. Reflect what you desire. Become what you respect. Mirror what you admire
Here are a few manifestations I will be repeating:
✨The money I spend will come back to me doubled.
✨Love is attracted to me.
✨My heart is warm for myself and others.
✨My spirituality will hold me and guide me through life.

Hey guys, so just as a heads up, I don’t think that highlighting your already made notes is that effective unless it’s for aesthetic. However for many subjects like English classes or humanities, you are often given a bulk amount of readings and I believe that highlighting not only helps you digest the content but it also makes note taking easier afterwards. Though some people find it hard to figure out what they need to be highlighting so I’ve come up with a few ideas.
Terms often come into play when digesting a lot of textbook readings where ideas are being explained to you and often you will want this definition to be readily available when revising too so its good to highlight these when you come across them.
Key concepts can be really good to highlight when trying to understand scientific concepts within research articles or when reading persuasive texts as you can relate the material back to your core unit of work. Alternatively you can use concept to highlight the main idea of paragraphs or chapters to give you a quick reference of summary when studying.
I find examples to come particularly handy in studies which are applied to everyday situations, for example a law textbook may discuss a concept and give an applicable example which I would then highlight. Or in math you may highlight an example problem to help you if you get stuck later.
This highlighter was a godsend in my last exams, especially for history because I’d be reading so many historians and articles and when it came to writing essays it would only take me seconds to find a good reinforcing quote as I’d been highlighting them all along. Or even in English you can highlight quotes from reviews or scholars to be used to back up your argument.
This one is mainly for English and literature studies because when analysing devices and giving examples of these it helps when they are already highlighted. It’s all about studying smarter not harder and getting things done efficiently so this step really has helped me out.
Again another more humanities point as you often have to create a mental catalogue of people involved and the context of situations to understand the severity of moments in history. Though in science and other subjects it’s always good to know what pages are talking about what professors or scholars or historical figures.
Finally, in many subjects you are expected to produce a mental timeline of events especially in history and it becomes confusing to pinpoint events and dates together so this step helps to take the labour out of that situation.
I hope this helps you guys out. I also like to just make a key for my highlighting that I use for a bookmark, that way I can constantly refer to it. Message me if you have any ideas or things you want me to post about.
Writing Tip June 4th
A list of body language phrases.
I’ve included a very comprehensive list, organized by the type of body movement, hand and arm movements, facial expressions etc. In some cases, a phrase fits more than one heading, so it may appear twice. Possible emotions are given after each BL phrase unless the emotion is indicated within the phrase. (They are underlined for emphasis, not due to a hyperlink.)
Note: I’ve included a few body postures and body conditions as they are non-verbal testimony to the character’s physical condition.
Have fun and generate your own ideas.:-)

Who am i?
What makes you “you”? Is it your name? Your family? Your school? Your grades? The people you’re surrounded with? The type of degree that you have? Is it where you live? Is it the amount of experiences that you have? Or is it the amount of money that you have? All these questions that I have just to justify who I really am. When you think about it philosophically, this is associated with the philosophy of man, which is the study of man and its philosophy in life that is. It is the nature, activities and destiny of man. For me it is the search for the meaning of life to man, your own search for purpose in this world. The whole reality of man, why do you live for this world, why do you suffer for this good for nothing world? Is there purpose for us humans? “Know thyself” said the philosophers but in what terms? There really isn’t any wrong answer to this, it only depends on how you understand the question and how are you going to answer it. People can have different ways to approach this question regarding who you are. I am a daughter to my parents, I am a female, I am a sister to my siblings, I am student, I am friend, I am a person, I have goals, I hate injustice, I think, I doubt, I lie, I love, I hate, I feel, I am everything that makes me. I am who I am today, I am my experiences, I am my achievements and I am also my mistakes. I am me today because of all of these simple things but that’s not who I am, that’s what I am. According to the originator of Psychosynthesis, Roberto Assagioli: I have a body, but I am not my body. I have emotions, but I am not my emotions. I have a mind, but I am not my mind. I have roles to play in life, but I am not any of them. I am a center of pure consciousness. What makes me now? I still don’t know the real answer to that. It is ironic how one question can lead you to more questions, endless questions to be precise. It is inconclusive; the question is too broad to answer. One thing that I know is that who you are isn’t based on the things that you have, it isn’t the physical things that can be thought of, it is something way beyond the extent of our human minds and they don’t define you. I like to think that it is because of the things that we can’t explain ourselves. It is about finding your essence in this world, the answer is all in you, you just have to dig deeper. Being a person means that I am like all other persons, but also unique. It also means that I can never provide a genuinely definitive answer to the question. Human beings are defined by a sense of personality, experiences and reason. We are often inclined to believe that the face we see in the mirror is us, a thing which has developed a personality through experiences. Here the body is merely a tool for the true self, the mind. To really answer this question requires gaining some perspective on oneself

I am trying my best to do what I can to be comfortable enough in my own skin. I am trying. I am trying. But at the same time, I am dying.
