alright guys im normal again. ep 263 spoilers ahead <3

i kinda want john to lose his ability to force him to realize that relying on others is Okay. like if he was in a fight that couldnt be won with just fists, but blyke or arlo or remi or whoever swooped in and protected him from harm. he’d be forced to realize hes not at fault for not being all-powerful and undefeatable, and that its okay to be a little vulnerable, even with people he doesnt like. he’d also be forced to properly confront the way the old royals have changed, and how theyve become better, more active people for those who are nullified

but also; i dont want him to lose his ability at all because then it ruins the entire arc of him learning to control his rage and love his ability. and i feel like he needs to earn peoples trust and respect back, and he needs to use his ability to do so, because at everyones core, its his strength and volatility theyre scared of. he cant earn back trust if low and mid tiers are beating his ass for revenge—they wont care about trust and respect. theyll care about making him pay. i mean looking at sera, we could get that arc back—but i feel like itd be crazy to give him two separate arcs when the “relying on others” arc could happen even with his ability. hes not invincible, as much as he and wellston believe him to be, and against the government and powerful organization? hes not going to be able to do this alone. no matter what, hes going to have to rely on others

maybe if they pulled a sera on him quickly, so he could still learn to love his ability and himself and control his penchant for revenge, while also being forced to rely on others when his ability goes out…or maybe if it weakened him but didnt fully take his ability…

i know a lot of people say “arlo started this” but actually the kids who bullied and tormented john when he was younger started this, keon cemented it, and arlo accidentally poured a bit of acid on the cement and then fell directly into the newly softened cement and THEN got stuck when the cement cooled. and then the rest of the cast kept walking over top of him which disturbed the cement more because arlo was thrashing and screaming bc he did not want to be trapped in the cement
