How was Jefferson a sociopath I don't understand
He owned 600 human beings (including 5 or 6 of his own children + their mother.)

He began a relationship with the mother, Sally Hemings, when she was a child. That is sexual assault & statutory. He’s a pedophile.

He oversaw whippings (perhaps even participated in them), indiscriminately killed his slave’s dogs & punished them by things like cutting food rations. He made them ‘compete’ for extra food, luxuries, etc.

Seriously, how is a slave owner not, by definition, a sociopath?

His prized Shetland Ram killed a small boy, injured several of his slaves, & he only killed it after it began fighting with his other sheep.

After the Haitian Revolution, he was so terrified of the idea of a slave uprising in the U.S. that one of the policies he tried to propose (which eventually happened, a few decades later) was dumping all of the freed black people in an American colony in Africa called Liberia. Regardless of how long they had been in the U.S., what part of Africa they came from, if they were already free, etc.

He was pro-slaver and actively tried to help the slaveowners in Haiti during the Revolution.

He also tried proposing policies that punished race mixing & what would have essentially been forced segregation (because he was afraid that his slaves seeing a freed black person would cause them to rebel), and did not think black people and white people could ever coexist as equals in society.

He used the newspapers to anonymous shit talk George Washington, John Adams & Aaron Burr while he was working in the same Administration as them.

Patrick Henry got sick & Jefferson deadass said “let us pray for his death.” Alexander Hamilton got yellow fever & Jefferson took it as a opportunity to mock him.

He tried to manipulate Burr into falsifying an impeachment decision so he could get rid of Judge Sam Chase.

He hated Britain so much that he really, honestly should not have been President.

When Burr was down in the southern U.S., there was speculation he was gonna separate states/commit treason (which to this day it has never actually been proven), J. declared him guilty without any evidence but a letter that was later discovered to be tampered with. He also encouraged people to capture Burr ‘dead or alive.’

His cousin, John Marshall was the judge proceeding over the trial and he tried to manipulate him as well. John Marshall asked for evidence & Jefferson refused to provide any, he just wanted Burr hanged.
I could go all day. This man was a monster.
