*large sigh* yes, I’m still here
My absolute favourite moments from the show are when John’s love for Sherlock just shows on his face, moments where he doesn’t hide it and just looks at Sherlock with so much love that it melts my fucking heart.
Exhibit A:
Exhibit B:
Exhibit C:
Exhibit D:
(Feel free to add!)
And of, “Afghanistan or Iraq?”
29th January, the Meeting.
Sherlock when he’s in danger: *completely calm*
Sherlock when John is in the slightest bit of danger: *pure fucking panic*
This proves that not only John writes knowing that his charming madman can and probably will read it, but also that while doing so he tries to flatter him.
Things that will probably haunt you until the end of time:
1) One of the world's first pieces of published gay erotica (Sins of the Cities of the Plain, published 1881) prominently features an upper-class homosexual with an address on Baker Street.
2) The Criterion Bar, where Watson meets Stamford in canon, was in this period known as 'a great centre for inverts' according to George Ives.
3) Some of the most notable haunts for gay men in London in the 1880's and 1890's were restaurants and hotels in the West End, theatres and music halls in Soho, gentlemen's clubs near Pall Mall and turkish baths (particularly on Jermyn Street), i.e. LITERALLY ALL THE PLACES THEY CANONICALLY GO TOGETHER!!!
I Love You
I think a lot about s4, just trying to see things in a way where they make minimum sense and after a bit of rewatching I’d like to analyze this particular scene. The famous Sherlock’s “I love you”.
First I’d like to point out the disposition of the room
Most importantly, the TV screen
Now Sherlock. He’s distracted, clearly exhausted, just trying to make Molly say it so she’ll be safe and they can get out of there. He just says it. It’s meaningless. But then something changed.
She asked him to say it like he meant it, which is impossible. Of course he cares for her, but it’s Sherlock, we all know his pressure point.
Well, the tv is placed right in front of him, while John is standing at his back, mostly to his right. As showed, the image of Molly’s flat wasn’t constantly on screen. The countdown was flashing, in a black background.
That is to say, he saw John’s reflection. His posture changes, along with his focus. He’s in it with his whole body and mind because he found the real reason for him ever saying those words, the very object of his affections: John Watson
Eurus knew
Probably this is said a thousand times already, but it haunts me since the first time I’ve seen it - so I have to get it off my chest.
Eurus knew their feelings for each other and she used that to get to them. That makes her the connecting Johnlock link.
Because why would she become the…
… all mysterious…
…stylish and dark haired…
…“I normally don’t do people”…
…and “I prefer to text” and I’m a “night owl vampire” for John?
~~
And the next moment she transforms into the…
… a bit old fashioned and sandy blond…
… with a walking stick…
…and a gun…
… who’s suicidal, alone and strapped for money…
… and nevertheless admires him and goes out with him “for dinner” for Sherlock?
Why if not for their feelings for each other?
She knew!
And she made them both date (the female version of) each other!
“He’s Mr Punchline. He will outlive God trying to have the last word.”
When John gets jealous... A LOT
We’ve all witnesssed it. Sherlock is attractive and women notices it. But although there weren’t many women in Sherlock’s life, those who passed left behind a very very jealous John. I’m taking about Irene Adler and Janine Hawkins.
(the gifs are not mine and i do not claim ownership over them)

So I’m listening to the Sherlock soundtrack and the song they played when Sherlock was going to save John from the fire because you know, fire exposed his priority is literally titled “John is Quite a Guy.” Like I know magnussen sent him that text but for real, how gay can this show get, man
the scene when john asks sherlock to be his best man is shot, written, framed, so well. it’s literally made to be like a proposal. certainly more of a proposal than either of the other two “proposals” we see. the playful banter. sherlock being silly, them being funny and comfortable together. just the two of them. the nervousness. “the Big Question” (John’s words, not mine)
like what the fuck, they’re? In love??
Yeah John I found out just now that you and Mary are going to have a girl child and “Sherlock is actually a girl’s name” is the thing I have always wanted to say and never have.
This is the scene when Irene Adler drugged Sherlock and John puts him into bed. When Sherlock wakes up he immediately says “John?”. Not even loud the first time. But John, who is in the living room or kitchen, doesn´t answer. Sherlock sits up and looks around in his bed. Why would he think that John is right next to him? Maybe because he used to be?
So I was rewatching Sherlock series three, and I made it to The Sign Of Three. Something occurred to me that I’m honestly surprised I never noticed before.
Back in one of the older episodes- I can’t remember which one- Lestrade says that he can’t imagine Sherlock having a girlfriend, saying he’d probably end up poisoning her.
Then, in TSO3, he admits that if he was going to kill John, he’d use poison.
Now, I’m not saying this means anything, I’m just saying that’s a bit of a coincidence for a show that claimed, in this exact same episode, that “the universe is rarely so kind” when it comes to coincidences.
my favourite thing is when the protagonist comes back to life purely because of their one true love
