This post-HLV story deals with the aftermath of a scary moment for John and Sherlock, and the fallout from things said in the heat of the moment. billys-consulting-flatmates gives us a less-sure, more fragile Sherlock who truly relies on John has his anchor and has a hard time dealing with the thought of being without him (no, he's not dead). I think though, that we have a great story to come back. Interval by scullyseviltwin is a sweet story where John has to see to Sherlock's needs since Sherlock once again proves that he can't be trusted to. John manages to hit a home run, and Sherlock appears to actually show his appreciation. Well written, and I love the imagery the author uses. Enjoy!

Sherlock blinked at the eyepiece, sitting up as if startled by my voice. There was no mistaking the man. Except something was different… His clothing was much like my own. It looked elegant on him. His hair was slicked back, not a curl on his brow. The same pale eyes stared at me as they always did… But these were full of concern. “Watson?” I got up from the settee and approached the table. “Sherlock… Why is everything so different?”

Man, if only THIS happened in the spesh. leloi brings us a little body switching, and John and Sherlock finally come to terms with their own feelings for one another after seeing their Victorian counterparts. This one is a POV story, but it still kept me riveted throughout. Enjoy!

La Douleur Exquise: The exquisite pain of loving someone you know you can never have.

Ilunga: A person willing to forgive abuse the first time; tolerate it the second time, but never a third time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After a night at the pub with Sherlock, John agrees to go back to Baker St. to look at a case before returning home to Mary. But, the night is cut short when both men are knocked unconscious, and Sherlock goes missing. Armed with only a gun, and a strange file left at Baker St., John realizes he should have left Mary the first time she put a gun to Sherlock's chest, but this time, he might actually be too late.

What an interesting story! It's a season 3 fix-it of sorts, although most of the things it supposes we don't know in the background are about Moriarty, not the boys. This picks up after John has gone home to make a genuine attempt at rebuilding his relationship (which normally makes me want to throw things but it's all good I promise) but before Mary has the baby. Bonus MorMor, Irene Adler, and parentlock.

A Holmes is nearly impossible to kill, unless they give their heart away. Sherlock doesn't mind giving John his heart, because he knows John will take care of it. Mycroft does not quite agree.

I loved this story, to be honest. The idea of two people becoming so irrevocably linked that they literally feel each other's pain is amazing, and I am always glad when Mycroft isn't portrayed as some completely uncaring jerk. Thanks for a great tale, jessicamdawn!

John Watson had his eye on someone. He had his eye on a very particular someone. This someone invaded his dreams and his every thought. This someone was the most beautiful person John had ever seen. And John knew he'd not stop until he had him. I saw something along the lines of Sherlock and John shagging in the changing rooms with Sherlock calling John captain somewhere online but I don't know who actually did it so I'm super sorry but please let me know if the credit is owed to you for the rather sexy idea. It was driving me insane for so long, I had to write it.

Tonight's story is consultingcriminal's "Someone". It's some nicely written Uni!lock with a heaping helping of porn in the middle. The rugby captain and a man who dresses like a gentleman, even if he lacks the manners of one have each been pining over each other without the other having any idea. A chance meeting in a hallway gets things pushed in the right direction. Enjoy!

John and Sherlock made a deal so that Sherlock could come home. Now it's time for them to uphold it.

I honestly feel a little bad for the other people who posted today, because once I saw this, I was never going to pay them any attention. I've been waiting for this sucker to finish since it was posted! This is the third part in the amazing and wonderful flawedamythyst's Skeletons series. You really do have to read the two that came before, but they're so great that it's totally worth it. I put it off for a long time because I don't really care for the fandom this is a fusion with (spoilers!) but I'm so glad I finally gave it a chance. Also, as if this wasn't enough on its own, chapter 11 isn't a real chapter, but a link to a Choose Your Own Adventure game! Hell yes!

So I know this is our second alien!lock in three days, but man, this one was so awesome! If kinklock wasn't the one who started the alien!lock thing this go-round, they were at least very involved. And the 6 months they mentioned that it took to get this thing finished totally paid off, because wow! It's written amazingly well, and the characterizations are spot on. Definitely a new favorite!

It takes 17 minutes to drown. He can’t find John, doesn’t know where he is and he’s not sure how long he’s been gone, but he’s fairly certain that it’s been more than 17 minutes.

It's a Sicklock! Sick fic? Johndoc? Anyway, John is busy and he isn't paying attention like he should. Sherlock doesn't respond well to a lack of attention, and he lets biology get away from him a little. I didn't find this to be as angsty as the summary sounds and in fact, I thought the ending was kind of cute. Enjoy!

Any current WIPs you could recommend? I really like reading a chapter or two before bed.

Honestly, not really. Chase and I are fairly busy people, and as I bet you've noticed, just keeping up with the daily stuff can be tough. We've actually been looking to change that, so we'll blog about it if we find something! I've just been burned on so many stories that never got updated, so I'm really picky about certain authors who I think will be good for it, or someone who has updated enough. Pretty much the only thing I'm following these days is the same one everyone is: All the Best and Brightest Creatures by the wonderful, amazing wordstrings. Every time I get the email I say "no, just delete it and delete your subscription and wait until it's over like you always do." And then for some reason I'm clicking on the link and then reading it and then crying and then realizing that there won't be another chapter in forever and then contemplating throwing things. But yeah, when we find a WIP we're interested in that's actually updating, we'll let you know!

We're alive! The downside to running a blog with your husband is that when life gets crazy for one of you, it's probably crazy for both of you. But hey! acdwatson is at it again! This one is for the alien!lock thing that's been going around Tumblr recently. It's a little weird, not gonna lie, but in a cute way. Alien Sherlock is pretty adorable, actually, and is somehow an even worse flatmate than normal Sherlock. Somehow.

When Sherlock was drugged by Irene Adler, he spilled his heart out to John, and Lestrade captured it all on his phone. However, Sherlock and John acted like it never happened. Years later, after John and Mary's divorce, Lestrade remembers the video and decides to confront John. Or: Lestrade is tired of watching his friends pine and decides to step in with some tough love.

I feel so sorry for Lestrade sometimes. I mean, he's a detective. He has to be able to see the undeniable attraction between John and Sherlock, yet he knows them well enough to know how idiotically stubborn both can be, and how horrible they both are with the whole emotions thing. In the story by obsessivelollipoplalala, Lestrade gets a bit of evidence and is finally able to convince one of them to make a move. Like the author, I love the idea that Lestrade totally knows, but also is so sick of watching them (figuratively) dancing around it. Enjoy!

John and Mary go through an ordeal that hammers the last nail into the coffin of their marriage. John runs back to Sherlock and tries to fix his mistakes.

OH. MY. GOD. This was so good! I didn’t realize at first, but this author has done other stories that I absolutely adore: Speaker for the Bees and A Terrific Soporific are some of the best! This one is right up there with them - the intrigue; the world building, just the right amount of angst and fluff. I like the way antietamfalls built something that feels entirely new out of literally some of the oldest stories in the book. This one will totally be getting a re-read.
