famously, after the inexplicable break-up of britain's beloved 'the beatles', john lennon then came forward with this unforgettable quote:

i find that first image so telling about their relationship - they were always looking at each other, and at the least always touching one another - not in the intimate sense but rather holding hands, hugging, and even just playful roughhousing.

it's clear that they valued their physical bond and i suspect they were more comfortable with it in private.

I left this as a comment, but I think it deserves its own post.

Fuck everyone who thinks John wasn't cute, or handsome, or sexy, or adorable, or gorgeous. Fuck everyone who tried to make John feel unattractive because he wasn't Paul.

14 year-old Paul sitting on the bus, thinking when do I meet the person who's going to change my life. Where's my special someone, when the bus stops and on walks John, and Paul later writes, "when I first saw Yvonne John, volcanoes erupted." So taken with him, 70 years later Paul still talks about how good John looked.
