I Was Just Having a Little Fun || Choice Para
She surveyed the wreckage with a look of grim, bitter distaste. She should have been there, a part of this, she deserved to be a part of this. No one would have appreciated it like her...perhaps Doris would but even she didn’t get to take part. It disgusted her, the whole world disgusted her, she sighed, she would just have to start her own war...
Suddenly she found herself in a very different place. She wasn’t in the ruins of her old stomping grounds, instead the found she was standing on a rock, in what appeared to be a lagoon. A strange woman with a grin of malice that Ronnie could respect and even appreciate stood before her.
“Veronica konic...” she said with a tilt of her head, “what a joy it is to meet you, here, have these,” she said as she blew what looked like glitter at her from her hand. Veronica coughed and sputtered in protest but as she inhaled it...things came back...strange things, memories of a life she had lived before.
“What the hell was that?” asked Ronnie, for the first time in awhile completely dumbfounded.
“That was your old life, the life you lived before I took you out of it and put you and your friends in this one. So here’s the deal-”
“Shhh,” Ronnie cut her off, she had been a mermaid? A mermaid that coaxed sailors to their deaths...and ate them? What a beautiful life...
“Veronica Konic, ‘shushing’ me is inadvisable,” said the mysterious woman standing on the water.
“I want it back, I want that life back,” said Veronica adamantly.
“You’re not even going to listen to the other options? You could cause quite a bit of chaos if you stay...”
Ronnie smirked, “in my old life I got to kill and eat people, seriously lady, there’s no contest.”
“Well, Veronica, you remained unpredictable to the very end, to go back to your old life you just have to jump into the water in front of you.”
With a giggle of glee Ronnie kept off the rock and canon balled into the cold water...when she emerged she no longer had legs or any memory of ever having had them in the first place.
