“The future is only an indifferent void no one cares about, but the past is filled with life, and its countenance is irritating, repellent, wounding, to the point that we want to destroy or repaint it. We want to be masters of the future only for the power to change the past.”

Lesser Gonzalez Alvarez
Vinyl Abstraction, 2013
“In the last two years, Lesser has worked with a digital collage technique, designing graphics and backgrounds by computer that he prints and recomposes into works that you can check out here and here. But he felt something was missing: the expressiveness of a human touch. And so he veered more steadily towards further abstraction, adding a physical interface to the process. A scanner with which to acquire printed graphic elements and transfer them on canvas or deformed vinyl. After generating and printing a color palette the creative part begins, with the meditative dimension of painting but still connected to digital forms: from a single palette Lesser elaborates numerous variations he then picks from and scans.”
