*Trigger warning, this shit is heavy* (you can skip to the end notes for a summary if you don't want to read it because it contains mention of child abuse and character dead)
Karkat stop basking in the presence of Jegus and be Dave=>
You are Dave, but not Dave in this moment. Instead you are Dave that takes place in another plane of existence. This Dave was lying on his bed. Sweat claimed his forehead as any other day because of the god unforgiven Texas heat. It was Summer and no matter how many times you tried the air conditioning remained broken. Because every time you think you finally cracked the code of basic mechanics a shadowy figure appears and the whole thing falls apart again. So, you just stopped trying. Instead you accepted your doom of being a human popsicle ad just met away all over your own bed. Because according to bro if you wanted to be cool that included the temperature. Striders didnât become sweaty teenage boys and didnât complain about such mundane thing as heat thus not needing air conditioning. Dave was just glad after the second time he fixed the air-condition and got the hint that bro was behind it that the guy hadnât decide to knock sense in him again about how one must act to be a cool kid. After a while of just lying there Dave decided that he had to get up eventually. Not that bro was going to ask him about his whereabouts or anything because usually it was normal for Dave to never leave his room, but it was because he was getting hungry and the stash of his usual Doritos and AJ in the bottom of his closet was running low. And when Dave had managed to finally sneak into the bathroom the day before on his way there, he had witnessed the coffee table overflowing with newly bought and untouched snacks. Not just like one or three bags of chips but literally just a table full of them. So, he might as well try to hoard a few of them.
Dave walked towards his door carful not to make any sound as he equipped his sword. Turning the knob without making any sound and opening the door incase bro would hear him leaving his room because he wasnât about to just get caught. In the distance Dave could hear the awful game music playing of tony Hawks title screen. Which meant that bro wasnât in the living room because if he was, he would be playing games all day because the living room really wasnât ever being used as anything else than a room where you would play games and eat snacks. Which might make it the only normal thing about the whole house if you ignored the disturbing amount of smuppets loitering around the room that is.
Right foot in front of the left Dave sneaked across the hallway and slowly sneaked a peak around the corner. Luckily the coffee table was still filled with unopened snacks. In way Dave should have know it to be odd. There had been multiple times before where there were still abandoned chips bags left on the table, but never had there been so many before just laying around ready for the taking.
Having decided that the coast was clear Dave walked over to the table and he didnât stop himself from eyeing every possible hiding place and multiple cameras in the room. With utter caution Dave grabbed as many bags as he could and cringed at the loud noises the bags made when he picked them up. That was when he realized his mistake. A familiar noise of a zooming camera lens sounded from gods know where and Dave knew that he had been caught. Caught like an animal in a trap, because that was what he was. Of course, the big pile of bag had been to good to be true because it had all been a trap. It was like bro had known the exact moment when Dave had been running low on food and had granted him a very timely opportunity to get more. Dave cursed himself internally for falling for such a stupid thing and dropped everything he was holding to ready his sword and abscond the fuck out the living room.
For whatever god of luck what might have been on his side this day Dave managed to reach his room in time. In time for what? Because there had been nothing chasing behind him as the only noise in the room had been Dave and the tony hawk soundtrack playing in the background. No clashes of shitty anime swords or an angry bro behind him. Did Dave imagine it all. Was it just his paranoia playing a trick on him? Luckily before Dave would get to trying to question his sanity his previous question was quickly answered by a note sliding under his door. The note itself only consisted of one word, but Dave already knew what it said before even reading it âroofâ. Daveâs whole body grew stiff as he saw it. He was scared but he didnât show it, even admitting he was scared was something he wasnât allowed to do. Because miraculously bro always found out when Dave did something wrong. And when Dave did do something wrong that note would appear. So instead Dave tightened his grip on his word and walked through the apartment and up towards the roof.
âHello little manâ You hated it, hated it more than anything in the world. There he was, Bro strider in all his glory sword in hand resting over his shoulder as he waited for your arrival.
âsupâ Dave said trying not to let his fear show in his voice as he readied his sword as calmly as he could while not losing his cool.
âYou know what you did wrong didnât youâ Bro asked, and you literally felt like you just shit yourself because ow god you were scared! Bro was looking at you with a piercing glance. You couldnât see his eyes because of his triangular anime glasses, but you could feel it. That piercing hostility and murderous intent every time when you were about to get your ass beat.
âYou didnât listen to meâ Bro continued taking one step forward. âYou ungrateful brat, after everything I have done for youâ bro took another step and you cursed at yourself internally when you took one step backwards in response. âYou fucking betrayed my trust little manâ bro was angry, he was angrier than his usual angry. Something was off. Bro wouldnât get this angry just or Dave falling to one of his traps. Most of the time she would just silently get his ass beaten up bro wouldnât normally be this vocal. And before you knew it, he was right in front of you. On impulse you closed your eyes, an honest beginner mistake really. You waited for a bit, but the blow never came. After a few seconds you finally dared to open your eyes and lowered your sword at the sight in front of you.
âKarkatâ you said the name of the boy in front of you. It felt wrong to see him there. Amongst the darkest parts of your memories. Karkat was one of the few good things about your live and seeing the good standing next to the bad just felt like so many levels of wrong to your eyes. You knew what bro meant now, why he was so angry at you. Because you had gotten close to Karkat, too close. Like on one of those of Karkatâs romcoms clichĂ© kind of close and bro was punishing you for it. You werenât allowed to start feeling that way. The way you realized you had started feeling about Karkat. So, this was your punishment. Just when you where about to call out his name again you discovered that you were unable to open you mouth. No words would come out and you were frozen where you stood. Your body was unable to follow your commands leaving you stuck and only able to watch as a loud ringing echoed trough your ears. Watch as bro lifted up Karkat by the neck chocking him as he struggled for breath while calling out your name like it was all your fault that he was about to get killed. You wanted to, you really wanted to save him more than anything even if it meant disobeying you brother, but you couldnât. Not because you physically couldnât, but because of bro's consisted echoing voice in you head telling you what to do for you whole god dam live. You watched Karkat about to reach his final breaths when in swift movement bro finally let go and Karkat fell. Bro had dropped him, not to the floor but over the railing of the roof. Leaving Karkatâs body to free fall to his dead the stone-cold pavement below. That was also the moment when you realized that the loud ringing you had been hearing the whole time had been your own screaming. And when you woke up in the dead of the night the screaming was gone instead you were filled with a dreaded emptiness inside of you as if you were about to cry, but no matter how bad you wanted to cry you couldnât because that was how empty you were feeling. It was a nightmare a bad dream. And you realized how much it scared you. It made you realize how much you had started caring about Karkat. And if anything, bad was ever to happened to him... You care about him more than anything. Because he was the best thing to ever happen to you. He understands you and is you best friend, and you know you can tell him anything even if you donât. And after that realization you try to go back to sleep as an empty void continues to eat up your hart. Because you arenât allowed to love him.
Notes:
So Summary: Dave had a bad dream about bro. Bro killed Karkat because dave was startig to fall in love with Karkat and bascicly Bro's abuse inprinted the thought in Dave's brain that he isn't allowed to fall in love with boy's. So he hides it all away because he isn't allowed to.

Dave stop fooling around with those Legoâs! be Karkat =>
Karkat never knew that playing with a strange set of pointy blocks would end up in... well, that! Â He had just walked into can town, ready to show the mayor his newfound alchemized pointy set of colorful blocks until he heard a high-pitched scream and turned around to his surprise to find Dave falling towards him. Karkat hadnât been expecting it, taking him by great surprise when he saw Daveâs flustered face once their eyes had met. Karkat had felt frozen, stuck where he laid for who knows how long. âstupidâ Karkat said to himself as he furiously began to hit his own head in frustration. He sunk back down towards the corner of his bedroom. Karkat felt flustered and it was because of Dave because his pump biscuit was beating at a rapid pace and it wouldnât stop, because of Dave! Â It frustrated Karkat to the point of exhaustion.
Sometimes Karkat just wanted to straight up murder the guy for being annoying, and like those are normal blackrom feelings, right? But no! because of moments like these Karkat feels red for him, like how he wants to hold him tenderly in is arms and just like, kiss him and stuff. The expression that had been on Dave face felt so precious to look at and it made Karkatâs insides melt. Groaning in frustration Karkat sprawled down to the floor entirely. Karkat would be lying to himself if he didnât admit that he likes Dave but dating the guy would be on a whole other level. Dave doesnât know shit about quadrants and it probably wouldnât work out either. At this point Karkat felt like knowing shit about quadrants didnât apply to him either. Or maybe just that the words Dave and quadrant were never born to exist in the same sentence at all.
âKarkaaaatâŠâŠKarkaa-a-attttâ A loud groggy female voice yelled scaring the living shit out of Karkat. He was onto his feet withing seconds, still a little unstable because of his shaken emotions but still alert enough to know when danger was to approach and equip his sickles.
âW-who is thereâ Karkat said voice shaking as he tried to sound threatening but failed making him feel like banging his head all over again.
âSilly Karkatâ the voice said after another chain of ominous laughter. âit is me! the spirit that dwells in the airshaft of this meteor, Jegus!â The female voice exclaimed happily. Karkat felt his muscles grow slack as his face changed from a panicky little troll boy to an unamused teenager clearly done with all his shit. âTerezi what the ever-loving Jegus are you doing in the airshaft, you made me think you were Gamzeeâ Karkat yelled and was only answered by yet another ominous chain of chuckling from the girl. Who had wriggled herself into the meteors air vents for some reason of supposedly comedy theatrics.
âNo Karkat, not Terezi, Jegus!â the girl said and Karkat hit his face with his palms in frustration finally giving into the girls shenanigans, he decided to play along no matter how dumb Karkat thought roll playing was, he had already passed that point with Nepeta. He knew roleplaying along was the better choice because otherwise they would get nowhere. âWell Iâm sorry for offending you ow great Jegus, but would you please tell me why you have blessed me with your all mighty presenceâ
âYessss karkat, me being here is such a blessing it would be a disgrace if you didnât feel honored, but getting straight to the point why I have visited you on this particular evening is because there is a matter that needs to be discussed and that is that awful unresolved sexual tension that has been going on between you and Strider, because you guys have been flirting with each from the break of dawn and it just hurts to watch at this pointâ Karkat almost choked on his own spit when he heard Terezi finfish her sentence. Flirting, he and Dave no way!
âTerezi god dam it, what the ever-loving fuck is that supposed to mean. I promise you this because there is not even anything remotely close to any kind of flirting between me and Dave. If you havenât noticed yet, itâs impossibleâ Karkat yelled âEspecially with Daveâs whole too cool for human school act no homo business which I will possibly never understand even slightest and as I have mentioned many times before that he doesnât know shit about quadrantsâ Karkat stopped for a second and took a deep breath as he acknowledged the fact that his hand were shaking as he spoke. âso no, no Terezi I do not as you put it crave strider assâ Karkat said almost whispering his last words as it was devoid of his usual shouty tone. His volume decreased with each word he spoke, immediately Karkat noticed just how unbelievable that sounded. His face was red, and he was avoiding Terezi stare. Terezi herself still sitting in the air vent crossed legged wore a neutral expression as she waited for Karkat to finish respectfully. And right when an appropriate silence had fallen when it looked like Karkat was about to cry from stress but was holding back his tears because he wasnât just about to let Terezi witness him bawl his eyes out because of boy problems Terezi smiled. not her usual toothy smile, but a smile of comfort and possibly a hint of sympathy.
âDonât deny it Karkat you crave strider assâ Terezi replied calmly as if she was stating a fact. She was seeing right through him, because there really wasnât much you could be able to hide from Terezi, the girl with mind reading powers. Karkat tensed meeting the girls sharp stare like a child caught doing something bad. âI really donât want to talk about this right nowâ he replied. âSo, case fucking closed Terezi, now if you would, please leave me aloneâ Karkat said with the usual bite back in his voice. And turned around to abscond his room and the conversation. Just when Karkat reached the door he was halted by Tereziâs words.
âYou will realize the truth in time Karkatâ Terezi said with an unusual touch of softness in her voice, âand when that time comes you will find yourself asking me for this favor. We both know it, and it will happen because only I know when a case is truly closedâ The girl flashed Karkat another wide comforting smile and disappeared trough the vents just as suddenly as she had appeared. The sound of her laughter fading away deeper into the air vents. Karkat felt like had dealt with enough random shit from his friends today. He was tired and conflicted, but mainly just deep down very confused. At least he didnât feel like he was about to burst into tears at any given moment anymore. It was weird to see Terezi genuinely care like that and dropping her usual act, but he guessed in the end he was happy because of that because in the end he did feel a little better. Karkat smiled a little to himself at the thought and walked away from the door towards his recuperacoon If he ever got his shit together and told Dave that he liked him in a very weird quadrant confused way how would he reply? Karkat groaned in frustration, he would be weirded out, wouldnât he? Karkat sighed and climbed into his recuperacoon with sluggish movements. He really was tired; he had been helping the mayor construct can town the whole day after all and after what happened with Dave, and Terezi as follow up. Somehow Karkat couldnât get the words Terezi had told him out of his head. âYou will realize the truth in timeâ What did she mean with that exactly? Maybe he should talk to Kanaya about it, he had probably been worrying her too for the past few days, and Kanaya had been too polite to ask him what was bothering. Karkat closed his eyes, snuggling into a ball as he floated around in the recuperacoonâs slime. God he really was sleepy, maybe because he also hadnât slept much the previous few days. He really was getting this Dave matter get to his head. Even to the point that he was starting to lose sleep over it. Why did every little thing from the scale of adorably stupid to furiously agitating make Dave so attractive to him, why?

Reader stop what you are doing and be Dave =>
Your name is Dave strider, and you are taking a stroll. The destination in mind of the stroll it to particularly wondering because you are only wandering. The only special thing about this situation was that this stroll was taking place inside of a facility on a meteor in the middle of space, and you were barefoot. Why Dave was barefoot? even he didnât know. Sometimes shoes seemed so pointless. âThank you kindly narration, be free my sweaty feet from you pointless shoe prisonâ Dave muttered to himself because narration isnât a thing you can talk to. Who needed shoes when you had the soft comfort of your meaty toes. Dave continued to peacefully stroll ahead on his walk to nowhere in particular and started remembering all those countless times he had fallen victim to the mighty Lego blocks every time again and again back in Striderbroâs apartment days. Dave knew that bro leaving Legoâs around the apartment on random occasions had just been one of his many methods to prepare Dave for anything and absolutely everything. A lesson to always wear shoes, or it was just bro being bro at cleaning, why the guy played with Legoâs at such an age? Dave didn't know, but it wasn't like Legoâs where specifically for children anyway. Dave shivered at the thought of the pain, those damm colorful blocks had been such a pain in the ass, literally even sometimes. Well, at least Legoâs probably didnât exist anymore with the whole earth being gone and stuff. All of a sudden without warning disrupted from his choo-choo train of thoughts, Dave felt a pang of pain run through the bottom of one of his feet and proceeded to make a womanly yelp which he would later deny, because Striders donât yelp. He held his foot in pain and was surprised to see blood dripping from it, trying to bring his foot closer to his face to investigate the so said object that was now stuck in his feet.
But because of the idiot he was, trying to shove oneâs foot into their face while still standing being a bad idea, Dave lost his balance after wobbling around and tried to direct his fall to his side as he had learned was the best way to fall and not break an arm, only⊠it never came. Instead Dave felt his face swimming into the texture of very suspicious fluffy wool and realized he had somehow managed to direct his fall towards something else than the floor. Just his luck the door had opened in that same moment when Dave was about to fall taking the person that had appeared from the other side of the door with him. Making his fall very... surprisingly soft-and fluffy actually! And that was when Dave found out he had just caused his own utter demise when he realized why the person, he had fallen onto was so fluffy, because there was only one person that could be. Fluffy sweater all year long summer or winter Karkat Vantass. Which made Dave wonder if seasons were even a thing on Alternia or not? He decided that was another conversation for another time. There were other subjects like a very pissed of looking Karkat who looked like he was about to start another long as rant when Dave finely met his stare still lying on top of the dude and of course all Dave could think of was wink at the motherfucker which only worsened the never ending angry looking furrow of the guys eyebrows.
âHERE I WAS ACTYALLY FUCKING CONCERNED FOR A SECOND FOR A FRIENDS POTENIAL WELL BEING,â Karkat started to say as was dramatically flailing around his arms on the ground âLOOK AT ME! HURRYING MY ASS OVER TO INVESTIAGE A PECUALIAR ASS SCREAM OF THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR WHILE I WAS JUST MINDING MY GODDAMM OWN BUISNES BUT NO, IT SEEMS LIKE THE HEAVNES HAVE BETRAYED ME ONCE AGAIN BY DOOMING MY DAY WITH ANOTER DOSE OF UNWANTED STRIDER PRESSENCEâ âheyâ Dave interrupted feeling slightly bemused while feigning hurt in his voice. âThis holy Strider presence is a blessing and you know it, come on bro you canât denying it. My cool kid strider ass just dropping in like the divine gift I am ready to be caught like a princes by my knight is shining armor is the most divine blessing you will ever getâ Karkat grunted and continued to yell frustrated as he tried to wriggle free from Daveâs weight on top of him which just humored Dave even more. Karkat yelled colorfully as he held onto Daveâs back tightly in the motion of struggle. Amongst the struggle Daveâs face found itself very flatly squashed like a pancake underneath Karkatâs sweater with Karkat still trying to fidget loose from Daveâs strong hold on his back. Dave felt himself being suffocated, his laughter from before drowning away as he struggled for breath. Dave Strider, dead by sweater. Dave could already see Rose knitting those ironic sweaters for his corpse party. Karkat saw the opportunity when Daveâs hold on him started to grow slack and didnât hesitate to turn the tables, because Karkat was now the one sitting on top of the other. Dave grasped a quick breath but soon found himself distracted as his hands appeared to be immobilized by the guy on top of him. Karkatâs face was right in front of his very close actually. As if he was on one of the first-row seats at the cinema looking at the premiere of Sir Karkat Vantass the movie. It didnât take long for Karkat to remove his arms, both boys faces inched closer in utter silence. Daveâs hands very slowly found its way towards Karkat cheeks. they had passed the time that was appropriate to let go, so they continued to look at each other like that for a while. It was probably a shorter amount of time than what it felt like but still, it almost felt like eternity while staring at those strange alien black and yellow eyes. Sometimes, Dave would forget the fact that they werenât the same species. And for some reason it made Dave tense up slightly, when he started to notice the obvious difference in appearance between the two them. Like Karkatâs sharp teeth that could probably tear trough raw meat if he wanted to or his sharp claws which were dug deeply into Daveâs back. Another thing Dave suddenly felt hyper aware of was Karkatâs hot breath on his face along with the feeling of Karkat speeding heartbeat trough his chest.
âDaveâŠummâ Karkat said âyour foot is bleedingâ a very poor attempt at starting a conversating but Dave was thankful none the less. Daveâs state of mind now probably wouldnât even have been able to form more than two syllables at least. Even if some miracle happened and Dave managed to form a word it would have probably been something stupid anyway which he would have regretted later. So, he really was glad Karkat decided to speak first. Which gave Dave the opportunity to nod in a cool manner, because as a Striders nodding in a cool manner was never a thing he could fail at. After another few mortifying seconds of silence Karkat finely got the clue that Dave wouldnât be opening his mouth in remark anytime soon. A wobbly pair of hands which rested on Daveâs chest pushed against him with the utmost care, not breaking eye contact Karkat pushed himself away from Dave space until both of his feet were standing on the floor. Dave only bothered to change his stance to a sitting position very aware of the sudden absence of warmth on his body.
âI..I t-think I should go now, I mean like yeah-hâ Karkat said his breath hitching at the last words while he awkwardly pointed to the door. Dave nodded again coolly because, still that was all he could do, and withing a flash of second Karkat was gone. The mechanical door opened and closed behind him, Karkatâs back was the last thing Dave saw until everything that had just happened dawned unto him. The places that Karkat had touched before suddenly felt on like they were on fire and Dave couldnât help but touch his face, which felt unbelievably warm from embarrassment. âWhat the hell just happenedâ Dave said to particularly no-one because there was no-one around just the feeling that he had to muter those particular words to himself. They had just been goofing around, it wasnât anything new, really. They had wrestled before but never, never had been stuck staring at each other like that. So close, their faces had been so close to each other Dave thought. Just a few inches more and their lips would have touched. Just a few inches and Dave and Karkat would have⊠no no! Dave didnât even allow himself to think the word. Dave his face was stuck in shock, but Karkatâs face just then it had been so... vulnerable, precious? Dave couldnât come up with any words to describe it. He had never felt this way before once in his life and he didnât know what it was. There was only one emotion he was having right now that he recognized and that was fear. Striders didnât feel fear, so Dave knew he had to keep it that way while feeling Broâs gaze of disproval flash before his memories. Whatever these strange emotions had been he wouldnât allow himself to feel them again. Or would he? Maybe he should talk to Rose, it wasnât like he wanted to, but it resulted to be the best thing to do most of the times. He trusts Rose, technically being siblings was one of the reasons, but it still made him feel uncomfortable to talk to her about things like feelings and emotions. Dave stood up, still feeling confused, only to his dĂ©jĂ vu almost fall over once again. He had totally forgotten about what had started the whole instance in the first place. Finally managing to look at his foot clearly now and not like some wobbling idiot the object that was stuck in his foot was now clear to his eyes to see.
