here we go....
All of us are kind of amnesiacs!
Yes! we do not remember anything for almost 2 years from our birth and between 3 to 10 years, our memories are pretty spotty. It is actually termed as 'Infantile amnesia' and 'Childhood amnesia'. Why don't we remember, is still being researched and it very interesting. Is it that they are there, hidden somewhere and we are unable to retrieve them or is it that new memories are written over them, making us forget them?
Interesting animals who have to fend for themselves, i.e., they are not dependent on mothers like the guinea pigs, do not have such infantile amnesia. Even separation from their mothers in early childhood have shown to cause earlier maturity in animals. This is something to think over......
It's world sleep day!!!!!
Get back to 😴
"Perhaps it is the gut that needs a session on the therapist's couch and the head is not to blame at all"
I recently finished the book 'Gut: The Inside Story of our Body's Most Underrated Organ' by Giulia Enders and am amazed. If the brain is the king ruling everyone, then Gut is the Prime Minister of the king's court - the real master behind all decisions. Remember Chanakya! He was the prime minister during Chandragupta Maurya's period and is believed to be the greatest kingmaker of all time. These gut microbes are like him. While the brain sits in a well-guarded palace inside the skull, the gut with its enteric nervous system has all the information about the ground realities. It is their job to convey the information to the brain and indirectly lead to the decision taken by the brain.
spent the 29 days of the month mostly using audible. I think I am officially addicted to it ;)
