❤︎ IN LOVING MEMORY OF BERTIE ❤︎ I never forget a dog, and I've photographed thousands of them over the past ten years. Some dogs though tug my heartstrings more than others the moment I meet them. Whether they are old souls, I don't know. A few days ago I heard that this little lady had been given her wings and it made me very sad for her family who loved her so much. Her name is Bertie and I met and photographed her way back in 2012 in Queensland for a fundraising calendar. She lived to the grand age of 17. Tonight I thought I'd post this tribute to Bertie for her family. Sneak peek of Freddie Mercury 😻💗 This stunning boy pranced the farm on Saturday and had the best time ever in the process. Freddie Mercury is a 6-year-old Standard Poodle and is so, so tall... he made Henry look like a Chihuahua! Freddie Mercury is big brother to his four year old human sister Annabelle, and he has adored her even before she was born, when he would lay his head on their human Mumma's tummy. He was a delight to photograph, and although we weren't blessed with sunny skies, we did get the most amazing sunset and I can't wait to show his family what a superstar he is. Mr August! I still can't believe we are in August... The "Paws for Thought" Rescue (PFT) 2020 fundraising calendar is featuring the gorgeous Peter Pepperoni this month. PP came into care with PFT after being brutally mauled by two dogs. Apart from the severe wounds he endured from that attack, he also had a heart block and a severely dislocated rear leg. He has been the most expensive dog by far in PFT care and to enable all the specialist care and hospital accommodation, there was some phenomenal fundraising efforts put into play by some of the key PFT supporters. As a result of people's generosity, this little dog stole many hearts around not just Australia, but the world. I spent a lovely afternoon with Peter, taking photos in between lots of bonding and cuddles. He truly is one of the most gentle and loving dogs I've ever had the pleasure to meet, and I've met a few! Today was my final Paws for Oz fundraising session which thankfully was held inside as we have been inundated with rain here at Wootton, and I've had to postpone my outdoor sessions. Bonnie is 13 years of age and has Dementia, so her Mum was delighted to get involved with our fundraising mission and take the opportunity to have some beautiful photos taken of her girl. We did Bonnie's session late morning to take advantage of her energy levels, and boy was she a livewire and a treat lover! All up we, the global Paws for Oz team of pet photographers, raised over $20,000 with this project for Wildlife Victoria to help all the creatures affected by the horrific bushfire season. Meet Ziggy, actually, he's my fur-nephew and we got to hang out when I was in Sydney a few weeks back. Ziggy was minutes away from the green needle many years ago at Blacktown pound when he was whisked to the safety of a lady named Katie who ran a small rescue "Special Dogs Rescue" where he was discovered by my brother and sister-in-law. For many years Ziggy was a fearful boy who adored his pawrents but not so much visitors he didn't know so well. Ziggy is almost 14 and has blossomed into the most loving and personality-filled boy whose favourite pastime is laying in his Mumma's arms and gazing lovingly up into her eyes 💗💗💗 https://ift.tt/32Iw6ID

Ellie is a constant source of inspiration and all her energy and free time goes into creating a voice for the voiceless. Saki 💗 This little dog pulled at my heartstrings big time! He's quite scared of the world, just like our little Harvey was. Look those eyes! Saki spent three years in a kennel without any exercise or interaction as a young dog in his formative years. His adopter Kieran, who donated to our Paws for Oz fundraiser, has given Saki the most amazing home and family full of love and guidance and everything he needs to become a more confident and self-assured dog. Saki and Kibo even have 2 alpaca brothers to spend their days with, racing the fence with each other from a respectable distance. This was the first photo of took of Saki in his session, and by the end, he was quite relaxed and possibly even enjoying the attention! I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. I'm very pleased to be home on the farm after a whirlwind 24-hour visit to Sydney! This little polar bear is Kibo and he had his Paws for Oz portrait session last Tuesday along with his brother from another mother Saki (I think I'm seeing a theme here!). Both boys are Japanese Spitzes. Such delightful little guys with polar opposite personalities. Kibo here is the outgoing extrovert. Little Barney here is Rusty's brother from another mother who I shared the other night. These boys finally got to have their Paws for Oz photo sessions and we couldn't have picked a nicer afternoon for it. The sun was bathing the farmyard at their place and the boys got to enjoy lots of treats for their hard work. Happy Chicken Tuesday Everyone! Sia becomes more adventurous each and every day. I'm so proud of our ex-battery girls and the way they relish life and all the various blades of grass along the way 💗💗💗 Every night when we put them to bed, they make the most gorgeous trilling purr ... tonight I grabbed a quick video so you could hear... I'll post it in the comments. Tania from Let The Ladies Go was telling me last night how all the hens purr/snore in unison and it's the most amazing sound.
