Football and Immigration Map

Choropleth map with symbols that focuses on how the rise of immigration in Europe and the colonial legacies of Western European countries has affected their national football teams. Each symbol represents a player of immigrant descent on a national team. Immigrant descent is classified as person who is a third generation immigrant, i.e. one of their grandparents was an immigrant. The data used in this map included all players who have been "called up" in the last 12 months for their national team. This map was meant to show the rise in immigration and the change in demography of Western European countries via their national football teams.
The file was really large when it was made in Adobe Illustrator and it was printed on a tabloid size paper. It was compressed when converted to pdf and jpg files, which is why the end part of "legacies" is behind northern Norway.
