Humans do not exist on Reverie, other than Verena, who is of course originally from another world. That's one of my core tenets of the worldbuilding. We use elves in place of humans so that we can have human-like designs but still make them a bit more fantastical.

I have my own explanation for how Hugh Mann the funny skeleton calling himself a human doesn't break that lore, but honestly since he's a gag character it's way funnier to me to just leave him as this unexplained oddity. So I'm keeping it a secret for now.
