“Mermaid Hustle” - 36″ x 36″, Ink and acrylic on wood
I do a lot of city scape paintings here in my home town of Vancouver, BC, Canada. My main focus is alleyway paintings. On a recent trip to Hawaii, I stayed in a beautifully colourful and interesting town called Kapaa (Kauai island). Upon my return, I blended the imagery to create a new and unique space that I wish I could eat pineapples in :)
Progress image of a new painting. It's coming along well, still plenty to do. From here it's time to deepen the contrast and add lots of little details and subtle colour layers to start making it look really rich and spicy
This is a haphazard collection of photographs I took of alleyway scenery in Vancouver, BC. I composited them together as a drawing/painting on wood panel
I finished this latest painting. It’s 36″ x 36″ and I think it turned out rather cool. I’ve been dissecting these Vancouver houses lately and then putting them back together via a mixed media artwork. It satisfies my weirdness haha!
In celebration of May 4, here is me, with Carrie Fisher, and a painting I made for her to sign and for a photo op :)
I painted Spiderman, and it was really super duper fun!
I painted this portrait of Boushh from Return of the Jedi. I am taking it to get signed by Carrie Fisher this weekend at the Vancouver Fan Expo..super stoked.
I finished this painting of Ironman tonight. It was a lot of fun and I’m really pleased with it.
I finished this painting of Boba Fett and I’m rather pleased with it!
This weekend, I painted a boba fett commission I'm working on at the beach in Vancouver. What a day!
In Strathcona, Vancouver, you will find amazingly colourful homes. They are old, character, and painted beautifully. I'm always amazed by the visual impact of the neighbourhood and I painted this house as an homage to the visuals that delight me all the time. I fragmented the house into a surreal inspired collage to give it a bit more visual "flare" before actually painting it.
Nestled east of Main Street and next to the industrial area where my studio is located is Strathcona, my favourite Vancouver neighbourhood. The houses here are bright and colourful and I plan to paint a series of them. This is the first in progress, early stages, but the colours are starting to take shape.
A new piece I'm working on. I just finished all the first layer of inking/line work and now I can start painting it. This is one of the coolest locations of Vancouver - an alleyway next to Victory Square Park.
A picture of me with my recently finished "Darth" that I am really pleased with. I am excited to get this hung up. Upvote on Imgur if you enjoy it :)
Starting background washes on a new piece that look like amoebas #art #studiolife
I finished painting Darth Vader this week..cuz I'm a nerd! This piece is my largest yet, at 48" x 48" which makes me super duper excited. This was a project with the intent of hanging in my apartment and it's certainly going to have a nice place on its new wall soon.
