—&& He did not expect to find the man so soon. No that it was easy or anything; it was just that Soohyun was accustomed to having at least one obstacle on his way to somewhere or to someone. Hence his surprise when he found out the name of a man and the address of a tattoo parlor that he allegedly owned. He’d only seen the man’s face once or twice. He was yet to purchase from him, but Soohyun could not forget the man’s face from the black market. He had the kind of features that engraved themselves into one’s memory, almost impeccably.

And to find out this same,intriguing man might be another step ahead for Soohyun was a huge bonus. Hence the reason of his visit to the tattoo parlor today. On a less serious note, the warlock did want another tattoo, but the very purpose of his visit was not just an additional decoration on his body. He hoped to get something much, much more. But, he had to play his cards wisely. He could not just go there and demand stuff. He had to be patient and calculating. Weigh every possibility and circumstance. Analyze, to the smallest of detail.

When he entered the parlor, Soohyun observed his surroundings carefully, eyes scanning, afraid to miss out on any of the details. Hands stuffed in the pockets of his jacket - today was an oddly chilly and rainy day - Soohyun took his time for sight-seeing the place, so to speak, until he finally caught sight of the man he’d come for. Seeing him from up close, from this kind of closeness, made him feel strange at first. Could he really ask him this? There was no reason whatsoever why this stranger would do him a favor.

He even hesitated for a moment, half ready to just get the tattoo and bail, perhaps return to ask a favor next time, but the back of his mind reminded him this was no time to be reluctant. Things had slowly started to fall into place and he was so close. He could not ruin it now. When his eyes met the man’s, Soohyun nodded. “Hello,” he started, pulling his hands out of the pockets. “Are you Jooheon-ssi? The owner?”

Jooheon was a loner of sorts and he liked it that way. Unfortunately, life was not meant for being antisocial, well at least when it came to the business he had established on his own. Now he was definitely not the very soul that had created what most foreigners called the black markets of the Demon realms, but he was a candidate in its successful popularity. The Nagini ran a business of sorts. For a special price he offered a plethora of items. From, special cuts of meats of various races to simply a death warrant, he was the guy to make it happen. Maybe he did deserve the nickname, the collector, because overtime the male had scavenged very rare pieces. From the fins of merfolk, to even Nagini fangs (not anyone he was blood related to of course), he had a very big collection and it kept growing as people called upon him for favors.

Not, only did he work in the darker murkier areas of the demon realm, but he also ran his own shop in Vighulir. It almost posed as a safe haven for people alike to come and find him for his servitude, since committing any violence on Academy grounds was a rather big no no. Venomous Ink, allowed him to work out one of his only hobbies, tattooing and also served as an in-between area, so to speak for people to find him if needed. So when the pattering of feet entered his establishment, the Nagini with squinted eyes looked up from his desk, hand poised with a fountain pen in his grasp as he worked on a rough sketch. He wondered what this person was seeking and by the looks of it, he looked out of place. Probably some jackass wanting to get a tattoo to prove how much of a tool he is. A snort left his lips and cured up into a knowing grin when he finally made eye contact with the stranger. The surprise was evident at his face at the formality he used. It wasn’t common for this area, and if anything it made him laugh. “Would I be sitting in this chair if I weren’t?” It was a stupid question really. “Spit out whatever you came here for, I don’t have the time to be wasting it on a dumbass, so please enlighten me or get out.” He always was a sweet talker.

Thomas stared at the man that saved slash captured slash bought him and he scrunched his nose. “But then you just taste the salt, don’t you? I mean I get that we are all different creatures and that some creatures will eat the others but if you just want it salty, why not just buy some meat in a shop and turn a salt bucket on top of that?” he hummed lightly, wondering if he was too chatty. probably, his filters had long gone out of the window when he was held captive. 

The witch side-eyed the snake and then huffed a little as he stepped inside. Tetanus shots? Blood? Oh great, all stereotypes got together on the best time. He sighed, he was within academy borders and that was everything he could wish for, right? “I am sure I will be fine.” he mumbled and looked around. “Where is the shower? Can I call Kyungsoo now?” 

Impatient? Very much so.

Jooheon found himself laughing, shaking his head at the naivety of Thomas. “It’s not about the meat or taste hun. It’s how I get it. I don’t find it as satisfying to go and buy a chunk of beef from the store down the street than to experience choking my prey.” Was it morbid? Yes. However, the nagini had been raised in the wild, so he had a primitive view of life. Following the male in, he made sure to click the closed button on, so that they wouldn’t be disturbed.

“Shower is just straight and to the left after the tattooing chair.” The male carded his fingers through his dark hair and pulled out his cell phone. “I fucking suppose. It would be smart to have him on his way while you shower, since then it wouldn’t waste as much time.” It almost seemed like the male was being kind, by offering his phone, but in reality he just wanted to get money as quickly as possible.

The witch whined a little as he was yanked towards the portal. Okay, he wanted food and warmth but he really wanted Kyungsoo more. Even if them meeting again would not be as happy as he might hope, Kyungsoo might be really angry at him. He scrunched his nose slightly at the idea of the spider cussing him out. Usually he got out of situations rather easy with looking really sorry and really sad. The money, however, was a different story and he sighed. He really hoped Kyungsoo was as rich as he thought he was, he did just buy him a house out of nowhere. 

The knife scared him and he whined but luckily he was just being cut loose and he rubbed the sore skin as he eyed the other a little hurt. Why was the other so angry? The witch huffed, even if he wanted he would not be able to run, just walking was already an enormous effort. “I wasn’t planning on it.” he mumbled, the threats scary but he was too tired to really process what the other said. “What- wait you eat humans?” he said eventually, staring at the man. Not even really surprised but just- the other did not look like a cannibal. Wait, he was probably just human looking. Life was weird these days.

Seeing Vighulir was the best thing and he gave a tired smile. “Yeah, I remember your parlor.” He mumbled tired and stumbled after the man. “I don’t really need food right now, I just want to see Kyungsoo.” he mumbled and rubbed his cheek. Ew. “Though a shower can’t hurt or Soo might freak even more.”

Jooheon found himself shrugging. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust Thomas, well he didn’t, but usually those held captive for ransom were typically not so smart and tended to run. He was taking no chances on that matter so a simple suggestive comment never hurt anyone. Shooting him a smile that made his eyes practically diminish on his face, he found himself actually feeling gleeful at his words. “Well when I feel puckish who am I turn down meat of various sorts? Human, Nagini, Elf, they all have their tasty bits. I prefer the livers of aquatic races. They taste so salty you don’t have to season them so much.” With that he turned his attention back to the road, headed towards his own shop.  

“Oh? Seems my shop is popular with the masses after all. I guess it’s my sweet reputation huh?” A snort passed his lips and shoving his hands into his pockets, he ambled his way towards the lighted path ahead. “I promise you that I also want to see Kyungsoo just as badly if not more than you sweets.” So he could get paid, but really their reasons didn’t matter. “Well I have a ratty old shower you can use. Don’t mind the blood stains oh and I do hope you have had your tetanus shot, the pipes are rusty.” With a grin, his fingers wrapped around the handle of the door and held it open for the lanky male, a mocking façade plastered on his face. “Guests first, I am the utmost gentleman after all.”

She wanted to laugh, because even if his response was redundant and short, she was beginning to see exactly why he wasn’t one. ‘Newbie’ she could grasp, if only because it’s root was… well, ‘new’, so she nodded to that and then raised an eyebrow. ‘Do you have a reputation that would rebuff me?’ She could imagine many a thing with this man, and she didn’t doubt he could spin all the horrific tales he wanted, but she relied upon his brusqueness when she asked the question. To the name, she pressed a palm to her mouth, eyes narrowed. ‘Kat,’ her fingers insisted, and she looked pointedly at him. The day he gave her his name, she could get him back and he could call her a kitty-kat all he wanted.

A scoff and she pressed the glass to her lips, letting the wine sink into her tastebuds. It was somewhat thick, sticky, and light in its sweetness, which was entirely unexpected but a pleasure nonetheless. She relaxed against the counter, watching it swirl. The comment on her appearance turned her attention back to him, head now propped upon her hand. Of course she wasn’t loud. She was entirely mute for god’s sake. ‘Are strangers a common presence in your life?’ she asked, amused by his forthrightness. ‘Or do you enjoy people-watching and calling others out on their foolishness?’

Jooheon could only shrug, his lips curling into a smile wide enough to show off the dimples that people rarely got to see because he usually scared them off before he could actually not insult them. “What do you think sweetie?” Running his fingers over the glass cradled between his palms, he looked at her with an innocent of an expression that he could muster. Yet, a snicker fell from his lips at her response to his nickname. “Oh you don’t like Kitty-Kat, but I think it fits you so well.” Well the Nagini couldn’t actually a hundred percent agree to that seeing as though he hardly knew her, but he really did like to unnerve people as much as possible. It was one of his favorite hobbies after all.

Following suit to her actions, he brought his own glass to his lips, the burn of the alcohol numbing most of his body by now. It was a great pleasure. “Mmm I would have to say so, since most people stay as such. I don’t make much friends and I can’t fathom why since I have such a bubbly and outgoing personality.” Jooheon thought so at least. “Ahhh seems like you found of the Jooheon charm. Am I that easy to read?”

The other sounded like a snake. Maybe he was a snake, wait did snakes and spiders hate each other? Just his luck, he hoped Kyungsoo wouldn’t eat the man on sight. He winced at the words of the other, what a cold and unforgiving creature. Maybe he should be BFFs with Samuel. 

He wasn’t gangly. Thomas kept silent, just staring at the male, the fact he would buy his freedom the first good thing he heard all week. As the man walked away he inhaled sharply, he would get out of here. Anywhere was better than here, really. He hoped. 

He was released, then bound again and he stared at the man unbelieving as his steps faltered slightly from being locked up for so long. “I- what.” He blinked rapidly. A count? That was nothing good, perhaps the male was really the better of the two bad options he had. “Thank you, anyway. Will we go to the academy now?” There was hope in his voice. Hope for warmth, food a hot shower and Kyungsoo. All things he really, desperately wanted. “I can’t imagine why I was expensive.” He mumbled, scrunching his nose. He was not as pretty as most men or women here, but perhaps that was a matter of opinion.

“Don’t thank me yet.” Jooheon wasn’t playing when he said he would make the money back for buying the boy if this Kyungsoo fella didn’t pay up. In fact he could use him in his own little schemes and probably make more, but it was too much effort to even bother with. Tsking he just pulled the tall male towards the portal. “Not yet, I need to stop by my shop in Vighulir. I hardly doubt that Kyungsoo would be very happy to find you looking the way you do, though it would be quite easy to dispose of you this way, I will at least feed you and let you clean up a little.” Why was the Nagini going out of his way to make Thomas presentable? It wasn’t because he felt bad for him, because he had royally fucked up to get himself sold, but more because he didn’t want to deal with the person who would be paying for him.

Stepping into the portal with the male in tow, he dropped the ropes he held him with and dug into his back pocket to retrieve a knife he carried on himself when he went to such black markets. You never knew what might happen and while he was very deadly without it, sometimes he wasn’t quick enough to change first. “As much as I don’t give a fuck about being presentable, I don’t think the other villagers will be thrilled to see you being dragged around like a dog.” With a few flicks of his wrists, the rope that tied him up slipped free, but he looked up at the male, eyes set with a glimmer of foreboding promise. “If you run, I promise I will catch you and by the time Kyungsoo shows up, the poison in my venom will already have you shitting your insides from every orifice not even the strongest healer can save you, so don’t run. I’m not in the mood to eat my prey today. It makes me tired.” Flashing a toothy smile, he waved the male to walk in front, the landscape of the village now in front of them. “Up the street and to the left is my shop. Tattoo parlor.”

Jay was laughing at his comment, partially because he was high and the male sounded funny to him at the moment and the rest he could just chuck it up as being because he was used to the hardass type. He had met many gangster wannabes in his club days, to know that while Jooheon might not fit into that category, he definitely carried a lot of the same qualities. Smoke was pluming around him in thick tendrils, and while he knew the slanty eyed male was just doing it to get back at it, he hardly cared. It would just make him more stoned. “Babycakes, I like that.”

A gummy smile broke out onto his lips, because yeah this shit was fucking good and he would settle for nothing else. “Mmm yeah I have a really good dealer, won’t settle for anything less than this quality.” Heck he didn’t buy from anyone else unless he was desperate. “No shit? That’s fucking awesome, I’ve been thinking about getting something new, have no idea what, but I have that itch you know?” He assumed Jooheon would understand what he meant, because it seemed that the more tattoos one got, the more addictive it became. A sudden breeze had him shivering and being a werepeacock with siren blood pumping through his body, he definitely tended to be a little bit warmer, he couldn’t say for the other male. “Say, its balls cold, want to go by my place and hit my bong?” Jay was naturally social, so he saw nothing wrong with asking to bring the other male back to his place.

Jooheon was sorta surprised that Jay seemed so chill at his nicknames. People usually took offense to his comments rather quickly, but then again the male seemed either very high or just had a laid back character trait. He was betting on both. Heck, he wasn’t a social butterfly himself, yet he found himself easily talking to him and it was uncomfortable at all. Maybe it had just been a really long time since he had smoked some weed, but still he had only taken a sinhgle hit and while it had been strong, the nagini liked to think he wasn’t that easily fucked up. Who knows though? “Quality is always worth the effort, people come to me all the time to fix jacked up shit they got tatted on them and it pisses me off.The audacity they have to ask me to fix it.” A degrading snort left his curled lips, because that was one of his biggest pet peeves about working in the tattoo business. Fixing others’ mistakes.

“Oh I understand the itch plenty.” It was something only those truly with more than one or two tattoos could understand. The stinging pain that seemed to almost be unbearable at some point, yet you almost seem to crave it the minute the bandage is snapped back against your skin. His eyebrows shot up at his offer and the male licked his lips in thought. He had orginally been walking home to get out of the cold, because his reptilian background definitely made him hate it a lot more than other races. Did he want to spend more time with Jay? He seemed interesting enough and the offer of more drugs to make his throat dry and eyes bleary sounded wonderful. “Fucking why not? I could go for some fun for once.” Shoving his hands into his pockets, he motioned for the male to lead. “You live in Vighulir then?” It was a guess, but he really didn’t think a student from the nearby academy would be offering him to chill in his dorm for the night.

She propped her chin on a fist, eyes narrowing just as badly in a sort of smile before she moved her hand to write, ‘What is the student type?’ and cocked her head slightly. The motion wasn’t in naivete, though she was intrigued, now. ‘I was not aware of this place before yesterday,’ she lettered coolly before finally laughing slightly in a huff of breath. She nodded to confirm the assumption, though.

Though it sounded as if he had already given her a name, she provided a small manifestation floating, ‘Kat’ between herself and him because he didn’t seem to be the type of person to use Katesch. To the comment about the cold, she scowled, inhaling in irritation. She had experienced worse, but that didn’t mean she liked it. ‘The cold belongs in नरक .’ The Hangul was aggressively bright for a moment then faded quickly as she pushed it away. She followed the approach of the bartender and wrote, in a milder fashion. ‘The wine. I have not had wine in two centuries.’ Upon having the alcohol be poured, she sighed in basic appreciation of the fact that it had been so long. ‘The day has been exhausting, even this early.’

Shrugging, he thrummed his fingers against the cool counter type. “The student type is the student type, I wouldn’t know, I’m not one.” Okay, that probably wasn’t his smartest reply back, but he wasn’t going to spend time talking about the stupid people when he could be talking about something else. “Oh you are a newbie then. Makes sense as to why you are talking to me.” For some reason the Nagini gave off this aura that seemed to keep people far away from him. He just didn’t know why, maybe it was his breath, too reptilian? “Oh Kitty-Kat, I like the sound of that.” Grinning he slurped down more of his drink, eyeing the female. “Yes the cold should go fuck itself, or whatever you said.”

He couldn’t quite understand whatever language she had used instead, nor did he really care. “Oh that’s a shame. I almost feel offended you have had wine in so long.” Jooheon didn’t know how she survived, but then again he didn’t have a huge supply rum minus what the pirates had left on Snake Island. “It sure has, hence why drinking was the answer to all of my problems. Well besides cussing out some strangers, but I couldn’t do that to you, you’re too pretty and not loud.”

She had noticed the male—it was only when others were not in even her peripherals that she startled—but she had not expected him to address her. Turning to him, she blinked, once again faced with words she had never even heard before. The smile he wore made his eyes nearly invisible and that alone made her nose crinkle slightly, even if he was both tipsy and completely… honestly some of those words… But she closed her eyes briefly and pushed out an exhale because she got the gist and the tone. It wasn’t the drink. She’d been patient for two centuries. She could wait a few more minutes.

Setting her elbow on the counter, she moved her fingers together to draw out, ‘Yes. Are you a student as well?’ She brushed her hair back and found the one-on-one undemanding. Out of the Academy and minutes away from trying something new, she felt less tense, though still completely aware that she was unfamiliar from everything right down to the man before her. Pulling her sleeves more securely down to her palms, she observed the rest of the bar before settling back on him. ‘Why are you here early?’ she spelled, the ‘you’ slightly more bright than the rest.

Jooheon practically felt his eyebrows shooting up at the hangul being written across the air, because he certainly hadn’t seen that coming. “Well boohoo babe, I’m not the student type.” He was by far not the student type. Jooheon could hardly keep his sarcasm to a minimum in a one to one conversation, he didn’t want to even think what it would be like to be around a group of people. The Nagini had lived too much of his life solitary and the idea of sticking himself in to such a situation made him take a gulp of his own drink to quell the uneasy feelings. “So you are a student? Fucking figures that is all this city is made up of. The day I meet someone who just lives here will be the day I turn nice.”

He watched her pull the sleeves of her shirt up, and he found himself shrugging. “Well babe without a name, I’m here early because its fucking balls ass cold and I wanted some form of drink to give me at least some fake warmth.” Turning in his seat, he leaned his elbow on the table, cradling his head against his palm. “Why are you here early?” Thankfully his idea to get a drink had given him some warmth and well entertainment for the time being.
